Netflix's 'Weak Hero Class 2' has rapidly risen to global 2nd place, gaining high popularity from the start.
According to the OTT content ranking site FlixPatrol, as of the 27th, 'Weak Hero Class 2' ranked 2nd (722 points) in the Netflix TV show institutional sector worldwide Top 10. Compared to 3rd place the previous day, it climbed one spot into the top ranks.
'Weak Hero 2,' which secured global 3rd place immediately after its release, achieved 1st place in 22 countries and jumped to global 2nd place the next day, recording 1st place in 32 countries (including Korea, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, Mexico, Malaysia, India, Qatar, the Philippines, Peru, Venezuela, Paraguay, Indonesia, etc.). Furthermore, it gained attention by reaching 3rd place in the U.S. as well.
The Netflix original series 'Weak Hero 2' depicts the intense survival and brilliant coming-of-age story of Yeon Si-eun (played by Park Ji-hoon), a model student who transfers to Eunjang High School while carrying the trauma of having fought against violence for a friend but ultimately failing to protect them. It is a sequel to Season 1, which was released in November 2022.
Along with Yeon Si-eun's growth, Park Ji-hoon, who will showcase deeper acting, along with Ryu Un, Choi Min-young, Yoo Soo-bin, Bae Na-ra, Lee Min-jae, and Lee Joon-young, highlight the diverse relationships created by new characters. Above all, Park Ji-hoon, burdened by the trauma of not being able to protect his friend, transfers to the new school Eunjang High, where his deepened emotional lines, delicate acting, and action scenes are receiving praise.
In addition to Park Ji-hoon, Ryu Un takes on a unique transformation as the righteous leader Park Hu-min, who is responsible for maintaining order at Eunjang High, while Choi Min-young plays Seo Jun-tae, who, observing Yeon Si-eun standing up against violence, finds the courage to fight for the first time. Lee Min-jae portrays Park Hu-min's loyal friend Go Hyun-tak, Yoo Soo-bin acts as the information source Choi Hyo-man, who wants to belong to the bullying group, Bae Na-ra plays Na Baek-jin, the leader of the alliance that constantly threatens the Eunjang 4, and Lee Joon-young is active as Geum Seong-jeo, a member of the alliance with an unclear agenda.
Meanwhile, 'Weak Hero 2' was directed again by Yoo Soo-min from Season 1, and Han Jun-hee, the director of the 'D.P.' series, participated as the chief planner, completing the project. It was released on Netflix on the 25th to over 190 countries worldwide.
