It has been proven that Go Youn-jung, from 'Seulgi's Life as a Resident,' is a person with a passionate heart.
In the episode aired on the 27th, the tvN weekend drama 'Seulgi's Life as a Resident' (written by Kim Song-hee and directed by Lee Min-soo) portrayed Eom Jae-il (Kang Yoo-seok) stepping up as an obstetrician, O Yi-young (Go Youn-jung) transforming into a doctor who can act for patients while nurturing feelings for Goo Do-won (Jung Jun-won), and Byun Nam-kyung (Shin Si A) and Kim Sa-bi (Han Yeo-ji) growing through their quarrels.
Eom Jae-il was eager to view ultrasounds. He worked hard alongside his smart seniors with over a year of experience in observing ultrasounds and didn't even go home. He was enthusiastic while dozing off in the hallway.
Among them was a very concerned expectant mother. She visited the obstetrics department for ultrasounds more than once a week, citing persistent abdominal pain. Although there was clearly nothing wrong, the expectant mother worried and doubted about her baby.
Then, after the quick examination by the physician known as a genius finished, the expectant mother became even more anxious. She demanded, "Did you check everything, like the baby's heartbeat and umbilical cord?" In response, Eom Jae-il said, "I'm not as good as that doctor, but I'm incredibly thorough. I'll recheck the ultrasound of that lump from earlier. Still, I have the highest number of ultrasound observations among first-year doctors," and then took the initiative. Eventually, Eom Jae-il discovered an issue, and the expectant mother gave birth safely.
Byun Nam-kyung and Kim Sa-bi did not think they were suited for each other. Byun Nam-kyung reprimanded Kim Sa-bi, saying, "Professor Jo Jun-mo hasn't arrived yet, right? Did you talk well to the patient?" and "Wasn't there someone who had fibroids in her uterus? Yesterday, the professor told you to explain it to the patient," while Kim Sa-bi retorted, "No, it says 6:30 p.m. That one's your responsibility. It's my shift starting from 6:31 p.m."
Ultimately, the two received a scolding from the professor. Byun Nam-kyung complained to a close patient, "I have the worst luck with my colleagues. One is too lucky, while the other lacks humanity. It's like I'm talking to an A.I. They insist on their points until the end about trivial matters. It's just frustrating. We are too incompatible," while Kim Sa-bi expressed her dissatisfaction to Goo Do-won, saying, "I can't stand it anymore. I'm the one getting hurt, so why should I have to endure this? I can't go that far."
However, as Kim Sa-bi began to understand Byun Nam-kyung first, and Byun Nam-kyung sincerely apologized, the two developed from colleagues to friends.
Meanwhile, O Yi-young learned that Goo Do-won was unfairly deprived of her research by Myung Eung-won (played by Kim Hye-in). That was a paper that even received an award. Thus, O Yi-young couldn't help but mutter, "Damn it," so that Myung Eung-won wouldn't hear.
On the day of the award ceremony, Myung Eung-won said, "This seems like something Goo Do-won should have. You're not misunderstanding that I stole the paper, are you? I know you're not that type of person, but if strange remarks come out in front of the professors later, it will be embarrassing for both of us," thus keeping Goo Do-won quiet. In response, O Yi-young said, "I didn't mean to do that. I overheard it twice," and urged, "You didn't apologize to Goo Do-won. You didn't say you're sorry, did you?"
