Yulhee from MBN's marathon entertainment program 'You Have to Run' moved viewers by completing 9 laps alone in the 'Loyalty Marathon' competition, which required running a total of 30 laps.
The second episode of MBN's special program celebrating its 30th anniversary, aired on the 26th, showcased the growth of the 'Duisan Crew,' who began their group training and retreat for the first time. They kicked off their 'morning run' at dawn, showing genuine commitment as they continued the marathon competition to run 30 laps around the track until nightfall, leaving a deep impression on viewers.
Previously, after successfully completing the '5km Marathon' event in Yeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, they moved to a hanok accommodation for their first night together. Phrases symbolizing the 16 'novice runners' were placed like name tags in each room, as room assignments and roommates were finalized. Everyone wondered, "Who is this person with the goal to Choo Sung Hoon?" At that moment, trot singer Ahn Sung Hoon jumped out of the room, singing 'Ppunigo,' turning the scene into a party. Following that, he noted, "I will show a manly side through 'Duisan,' dispelling the misconception that I'm a weakling in the trot world," expressing his determination resembling 'the goal is Choo Sung Hoon.'
Meanwhile, the roommates attorney Yang So-young, Son Jung-eun, and Yulhee unpacked their bags in one room and shared deep conversations. Son Jung-eun shed tears as she said, "It was difficult to let others know about my divorce. I didn't tell even my close announcers for over 4 years." Yulhee responded empathically, saying, "I can tolerate other pains, but I couldn't endure the frame of being a mother who abandoned her child. I've never abandoned anyone..." He got emotional as he added, "Recently, I went to my first child's elementary school entrance ceremony, and when I said, 'Mom is going to run a marathon soon,' my child said, 'Should I come along? I want to do it too,'" showing a teary expression reflecting on his kids. Yang Jun-hyuk, referred to as the 'late-blooming father,' also shared a heartwarming moment with his daughter, 'Palpali,' through a video call with Choi Jun-seok, proudly displaying his daughter, revealing his 'daughter fool' side. The 'Duisan Crew,' who became closer through their retreat, woke up to the Director General Sean's call of "Wake up!" and began their early morning training.
Director General Sean announced, "We will have a morning run right now," and except for Sleepy, who requested understanding as he had to step out temporarily due to a live broadcast schedule he couldn't cancel, 15 members of the 'Duisan Crew' ran up the snow-covered Sobaeksan. However, during the run, Bae Yoon-jung complained of severe knee pain, stating, "I think my knee pain worsened after yesterday's '5km run.' I really hate myself for feeling this way. Even those who didn't exercise as much as I did are doing fine, and I feel ashamed of myself." He then gathered his mental strength and rejoined the training, and everyone successfully completed the morning group training without anyone falling behind.
The highlight of the day's training was the 'Loyalty Marathon.' For the 'Loyalty Marathon' competition, which required running a total of 30 laps around the Yeongju Citizens' Sports Complex track, Director General Sean explained, "We will split into three teams, and each team must complete 30 laps. The team that comes in first will receive the 'MVP badge' for today." Earlier, Lee Jang-jun earned the MVP badge in the first episode, getting closer to qualifying for the 'Sydney Marathon.' The 'Duisan Crew,' divided into Sean, Lee Yong-pyo, and Yang Se-hyung's teams, ignited their determination to win.
Ironically, the first contestants for the three teams were Heo Jae, Yang Jun-hyuk, and Choi Jun-seok, who previously engaged in a fierce competition during the '5km Marathon.' Despite physical limitations and injuries, they struggled to achieve their set goals and received applause from all. Ahn Sung Hoon also broke away from his 'weakling' image, showcasing incredible perseverance by completing 10 laps alone, rapidly rising as 'the ace of Lee Yong-pyo's team.' Bae Yoon-jung, who struggled with a knee injury, also moved others by running 2 laps with determination and responsibility. The last players to take the field were Yulhee from Sean's team, Lee Jang-jun from Lee Yong-pyo's team, and Han Sang-bo from Yang Se-hyung's team. Although victory leaned towards Lee Yong-pyo's team, Yulhee showed tenacity by running 9 laps alone to complete the 30 laps. Yulhee stated, "Even if I collapse, I will cross the finish line," following through with her determination, and after completing the last 30 laps amid cheers from Director General Sean and all team members, she simply sat down. Yulhee expressed, "This was a feeling I had never experienced before. No matter how hard it is, the energy created by running together feels extraordinary," sharing her heartfelt impression. All 'Duisan Crew' members, including Yang Jun-hyuk, sent enthusiastic applause towards Yulhee, saying, "Kanghwa Yulhee! Amazing!"
The final result was a victory for Lee Yong-pyo's team, with MVP badges awarded to team members including Lee Jang-jun. Notably, a meaningful donation will be made in the name of Ahn Sung Hoon, who ran the most in the 'Loyalty Marathon,' providing a heartwarming touch.
