Hong Seok-cheon debuted in the entertainment industry in 1995 through the 4th KBS College Comedy Festival as part of the 12th recruitment. He later became the first celebrity to come out as gay in the country in 2000. Since then, he has been a pioneer in changing the perception of sexual minorities in South Korea.
