Comedian Shim Hyun-seop, who recently married 11 years younger Jeong Young-rim, expressed his longing for his parents.
Shim Hyun-seop posted on his social media on the 25th, saying, "Thank you, uncle and aunt. I miss father and mother a lot, right? I missed them very much, especially on that day," along with a photo.
The photo shows Shim Hyun-seop waving his hand while looking at the main table during the wedding. On that day, the main table was occupied by his uncle and aunt instead of Shim Hyun-seop's parents, who had passed away.
Earlier, in a phone call with OSEN before his wedding, Shim Hyun-seop said, "After receiving the wedding consent, while stepping out, other grooms-to-be might be thinking, 'Now there's a lot to prepare,' but I thought of father and mother. Since I don't have a main guest, the thought of 'who should sit at the main table' came to mind." He also noted, "I think they would be very happy if they are watching from heaven. I think mother helped a lot, saying, 'You should stop being alone now.'
Shim Hyun-seop's father was the late Shim Sang-woo, who previously worked as a Blue House secretary and was also a former member of the National Assembly. He died in October 1983 due to a terrorist act carried out by North Korea at the Aung San Mausoleum in Yangon, Myanmar. In this incident, 17 people, including Shim, lost their lives.
Meanwhile, Shim Hyun-seop and Jeong Young-rim started dating in March of last year and rang their wedding bells on the 20th at a venue in Seoul, blessed by family, relatives, and friends.
