MONSTA X's Shownu, also known as 'Show Nu', made a surprise appearance with world-renowned DJ and producer Steve Aoki.
Shownu made a surprise appearance on Steve Aoki's stage at the '2025 EDC KOREA' music festival held on the 25th at the Inspire Entertainment Resort in Incheon without prior notice.
During the performance, Steve Aoki continued the 'Play it Cool' stage, where Shownu made an abrupt entrance, showcasing an energetic performance alongside Aoki's DJing and adding a refreshing ambiance to the Friday night.
'Play it Cool' is a track from MONSTA X's second studio album, TAKE.2 'WE ARE HERE', which was produced by Steve Aoki, establishing a connection between them.
Previously, MONSTA X performed together with Steve Aoki at the 'iHeartRadio Music Festival 2019' in Las Vegas, USA, in September 2019. In December of that year, they collaborated again at the 'MDL Beast Fest' held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, demonstrating perfect synergy and chemistry, captivating local audiences.
This performance marks a collaborative stage realized on the same day, with Steve Aoki inviting Shownu during Aoki's visit to South Korea, making it a joint performance after about 5 years. After the performance, Steve Aoki uploaded a video of the stage with Shownu on his social media, and Shownu also shared a photo taken together through MONSTA X's official social media, showcasing their enduring friendship and delighting fans.
Currently, Shownu is meeting fans through various activities. Last year, he made a successful musical debut with 'The Great Comet', and as the main MC of the YouTube web entertainment show 'Nofogi', he won the Digital Content Award at the '2024 KBS Entertainment Awards'. Moreover, in February, he proved his influence by walking the runway at Milan Fashion Week as an ambassador for the French premium lifestyle brand K-WAY®.
Meanwhile, MONSTA X, to which Shownu belongs, will celebrate its 10th anniversary on May 14. They are expected to meet fans through various activities in the future.
