Comedian Lee Gook-joo met with acquaintances in South Korea while denying rumors of immigrating to Japan.
On the 26th, Lee posted several photos on social media with the caption "My people ♥ My loves ♥."
In the pictures, Lee is seen enjoying a good time with Ahn Young-mi and Jung Joo-ri. The three, who share the common ground of being comedians, conveyed positive energy to viewers through their bright smiles. Her smiling face while gazing at the camera in comfortable attire hints at the strong friendship of friends who have been together for a long time.
Lee has recently been embroiled in rumors of immigrating to Japan. Through YouTube, she released a video titled "Lee Gook-joo's Tokyo Settlement," stating, "I've turned 40 now, and next year marks my 20th anniversary since debut. However, for the past 4 to 5 years, I've just been going through the motions, doing whatever comes my way," and shared that she started living alone in a 30-square-meter studio in Tokyo.
As this video gained attention, claims arose that Lee might be immigrating to Japan. In response, Lee noted, "But everyone, I'm not immigrating." She explained, "I'm not living entirely in Japan; I'm working hard on my commitments in Korea and am going back and forth to spend my time more meaningfully. It's like living in two places."
Meanwhile, Lee debuted as a comedian in 2006 through MBC's 15th open recruitment.
