NCT WISH has achieved its first No. 1 on a music show with the new song 'poppop'.
NCT WISH confirmed its 'top-tier' power once again by embracing the trophy for first place in their comeback with the title track 'poppop' from their second mini album on Mnet's 'M Countdown' broadcast on the 24th.
On this day, NCT WISH said, "We would like to thank the SMTOWN family members who always support us. We were looking forward to our activities since there were many good songs while preparing this album, and we believe we could achieve the No. 1 spot thanks to the fans, known as 'sizeni.' Although we still have many shortcomings, we will strive harder to show only good sides as NCT WISH."
Additionally, NCT WISH set a record for the most comments in a chat event conducted on QQ Music, China's largest music platform, with over 500,000 comments, and furthermore, the group reached No. 1 on the K-pop weekly chart (April 10-16) with just three days' worth of data, demonstrating their immense popularity locally.
Moreover, NCT WISH is running a pop-up event in collaboration with QQ Music at the Zhongjuman C shopping mall in Shenzhen, China, from April 12 to 25 to celebrate the album release. There has been a huge turnout, with daily lines for the event to receive free giveaways for visitors. The space, consisting of outdoor and indoor LED large display boards, a guestbook area to write supportive messages, and a photo zone for taking commemorative pictures, allows fans to fully enjoy the music of NCT WISH and has received positive responses.
After returning with the second mini album 'poppop' on April 14, NCT WISH surpassed 1.08 million copies in initial sales, becoming their first million seller since debut. They are currently experiencing remarkable popularity, achieving No. 1 on daily and weekly domestic album charts, No. 1 on the Korean Apple Music Top 100, No. 1 on Japan's YouTube trending videos, No. 2 on Korea's YouTube music trending, and No. 1 on Japan's AWA real-time trending charts.
Meanwhile, NCT WISH will grant appearances on KBS2's 'Music Bank' broadcast today (25th) and on MBC's 'Show! Music Core' on the 26th.
