The released photos show Kim Min-hee holding a newborn baby in her arms. In front of her, director Hong Sang-soo is seen looking down at the child with a broad smile. Alongside the two, a middle-aged woman was also captured, drawing attention.
The newborn baby in the photo appears to be the extramarital child of Kim Min-hee and director Hong Sang-soo, whose birth was recently reported. The two are said to have developed an affair after meeting in 2015 through the film 'Right Now, Wrong Then.'
Director Hong Sang-soo was married to Cho Sung-hye, whom he met during his studies in the United States in 1985, and they have a daughter together. However, since starting an affair with Kim Min-hee, who is 22 years younger, he has been living apart from his wife since 2016. At that time, director Hong Sang-soo applied for divorce mediation against his wife, but it was unsuccessful, and he lost a divorce lawsuit that took place in 2019.
Despite legally maintaining his marriage status with his wife, director Hong Sang-soo has established a household with Kim Min-hee and is living in a de facto marriage.
