The future groom of lawyer and broadcast personality Seo Dong-joo, who is set to remarry in June, was the management director of broadcaster Jang Sung-kyu.
A media outlet reported on the 25th that Seo Dong-joo will hold her wedding on June 29 at a location in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, and that her fiancé is involved in the management industry.
According to the report, Seo Dong-joo's fiancé is a professional in the management industry and is currently a director at the company to which Jang Sung-kyu belongs. The two became romantically involved while naturally getting closer during Seo Dong-joo's broadcasting activities.
Later, Seo Dong-joo explained in a telephone currency with a media outlet, "We first met at a gathering of several acquaintances. At first, we comfortably interacted as older sister and younger brother."
Seo Dong-joo added, "Although we have completely different personalities, I think they fill in the parts of me that I lack and make me a more balanced person. When I'm with them, I find myself often saying, 'I'm happy.'" She continued, "When I envision the distant future, I picture us holding hands while walking, planting lettuce in the yard, and living with our dog and cat. I am certain that even if we live in a one-room apartment without a penny, I will be happy just being with this person, which is why I decided to get married."
As Seo Dong-joo is also active in the entertainment industry, there are cautious aspects to consider. She noted, "As we grew closer, thoughts of breaking up didn't even cross my mind, and any hesitation naturally vanished. I'm not usually sensitive about my personal life, but my boyfriend isn't in the industry, so I had to be careful."
Seo Dong-joo will continue to be active in the entertainment industry even after marriage. She announced her participation in EBS's 'Architecture Exploration House,' stating, "I will continue my activities through broadcasting, lectures, and writing books," and expressed, "I want to live well together."
Seo Dong-joo is the daughter of the late Seo Se-won and Seo Jung-hee. She married a Korean-American businessman who is six years her senior in 2010 but divorced in 2014. After graduating from the University of San Francisco School of Law, she passed the U.S. bar exam in 2019 and has been involved in broadcasting activities in Korea since 2021 while working at a U.S. law firm.
Seo Dong-joo revealed last September through social media that she is in a relationship with a non-celebrity who is four years her junior, with marriage as an intention, and subsequently shared updates on the wedding preparations. The wedding will take place on June 29, with voice actor Nam Do-hyung officiating. The congratulatory song will be sung by musician Fromm.
