Singer Baek Ji-young shared her thoughts on her daughter Haim's study abroad.
A video titled "Children of CEOs with sales over 10 billion won attending prestigious universities (portfolio preparation, private education, and public education)" was posted on the YouTube channel 'Baek Ji-young' on the 24th.
In the video, Baek Ji-young opened a parents' meeting and shared her thoughts on child education, stating, "I did my makeup because I didn't want to feel small as it's a gathering of sophisticated mothers."
She continued, "Among the mothers gathering, I am on the older side, so I don't want to look too old. Therefore, I try to take good care of my skin," and honestly shared her skincare routine and concerns about lifting treatments.
The group chat name for parents is 'Hexagonal Mothers' Room.' Baek Ji-young laughed, saying, "I don't know what it means. Doesn't it mean perfect mothers?"
When the topic of her children's study abroad came up, Baek Ji-young expressed, "I want to send them to a good school. I hope to send them to a good university. As long as I have the ability, I want to send Haim out into a wider world."
She also mentioned plans for studying in Japan. She said, "There is a well-known boarding school in England that has recently opened in Japan. Especially, that school gives a bit of direction. There are multinational children attending, so no one feels like a stranger. The environment for utilizing smart devices was also well established." She added her wish, saying, "I want to send her there by the end of middle school or when she becomes a high school student."
She also expressed her stance on advanced learning, saying, "I believe that the order and progress of the educational curriculum set by this country corresponds to the stage of children's brain development. How remarkable must the people who create textbooks be? Therefore, I have issued a ban on advanced learning for Haim."
She noted, "Among mothers sending their children to international schools, there are mothers like us. However, there are no mothers who do less than us," which resonated with the audience.
Meanwhile, Baek Ji-young married actor Jung Suk-won in 2013 and has a daughter Haim. Haim is currently enrolled in an international school with an annual tuition fee of 30 million won.
