MZ wannabe icon IVE's An Yujin once again colors the living room with laughter.
An Yujin will appear on the tvN variety show "Bbangbbang Earth Arcade 3" (hereafter "Earth Arcade 3") premiering on the 25th.
"Earth Arcade 3" is a new concept hybrid multiverse action-adventure variety in which four heroes transcend time and space to catch the moon rabbit that has escaped to Earth. An Yujin will transform into the secret agent "An Yumyung," tracking down the runaway Torongi with Lee Eun-ji, Mimi, and Lee Young-ji.
Previously, An Yujin rapidly rose as a "variety blue chip" through "Earth Arcade 1" and "Earth Arcade 2." She built a fresh variety character known as "the clear-eyed lunatic" with her enigmatic bright eyes and boasted fantastic chemistry with director Na Young-seok, earning the nickname "Na Yujin" as the daughter of Na PD's variety shows.
In particular, during a catchphrase quiz in "Earth Arcade 1," she caused a big laugh by shouting, "Isn't it 'Aljaldakkalsen'? Ding!" when Na PD mistakenly said "Aljalkaldaksen," and in "Earth Arcade 2," when she referred to herself as "An Yujin," she firmly exclaimed, "An Yu...jin...? Yujin! An Yujin is not allowed!" thus creating the meme 'Chisungbae.'
As each season garners attention and builds a solid fan base, there is significant interest in this season as well. Recently, teaser and highlight videos have been released, further heightening expectations for the premiere.
In the video, An Yujin oscillates between her idol persona and variety persona, generating laughter, and when Lee Eun-ji starts a skit saying, "It smells like flowers here, and I added poison," An Yujin makes exaggerated expressions, leaving a deep impression with her fearlessness in being goofy.
Ahead of the premiere of "Earth Arcade 3," An Yujin expressed through her agency, Starship Entertainment, "It's an honor to be able to work with 'Earth Arcade' once again. An Yujin has been recognized for her achievements in variety shows, including receiving the 'Uplus Why Not' award at the 3rd Blue Dragon Series Awards and a popularity award at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards. Moreover, she secured the title of "Variety Idol" in the 2023 and 2024 "Brand of the Year Awards" for two consecutive years.
She is also not neglecting her primary work in music. An Yujin achieved a 'perfect all kill' on major domestic music charts with the pre-released track 'Rebel Heart' from IVE's third mini album "IVE EMPATHY," released in February, and accomplished 15 music broadcast wins ('Rebel Heart' 11 wins, 'Attitude' 4 wins).
Through the OST Part 2 "Sunny Day" of the tvN drama "Resident Playbook," released on the 13th, she participated in a drama OST for the first time since her debut, showcasing her versatility. Expectations are high for An Yujin, who has established herself as a "genius in her field" during ordinary times while boasting a sense of variety comparable to comedians as a "trend with conviction."
