The Korea Music Label Industry Association is holding an open recruitment for participating venues and musicians for the small-scale popular music performance support project 'Lalalawon' ahead of the 2025 performances. This project aims to support small-scale venues and indie musicians across the country and introduce various music genres to the public.
The 'Lalalawon,' which will take place over approximately two months from August to October 2025, will be held every Monday to Thursday in the Seoul area and from Friday to Sunday in areas outside the Seoul metropolitan area.
Each performance will last 25 minutes per team, with 3 to 4 teams taking the stage for each performance. A total of 150 teams will participate across 50 venues nationwide.
The eligibility criteria for venue recruitment are small-scale venues with a seating capacity of less than 200 that typically plan and host popular music performances. A total of 50 venues will be selected nationwide, including local areas, to receive differential support for venue rental fees.
The eligibility criteria for musician recruitment are individuals or teams with South Korean nationality who have released a minimum of five songs and are capable of performing live for at least 20 minutes. Approximately 150 teams will be selected to receive grants and performance opportunities.
Last year, the 'Lalalawon' was successfully held at various small venues across the country, including Rolling Hall and Prism Hall in Seoul, Club Knock in Incheon, Interplay in Daejeon, Art Hall Agogo in Suncheon, Club Heavy in Daegu, Obang Garde in Busan, and Edihall in Jeju.
Additionally, artists actively participating in the indie scene, such as East Asia Tigers, The Vain, Lacuna, Broken Valentine, Yeonjeong, and Crackshot, garnered enthusiastic attention and response from the audience, successfully concluding their performances.
Venues and musicians wishing to participate can submit their application forms along with relevant supporting documents via email to the Korea Music Label Industry Association from April 23, 2025 (Wednesday) to May 18 (Sunday) by 6 p.m.
The selection results are expected to be announced in June 2025, and further details can be found on the association's official website and social media.
