Hip-hop musicians Okasian and Bryan Chase have signed with Universal Music.
On the 25th, Universal Music announced the signing of Okasian and Bryan Chase. Calvin Wong, CEO of Universal Music Group Southeast Asia and Korea, said, "We are very pleased to start a new chapter with Okasian and Bryan Chase, who are recognized in the Asian hip-hop scene."
Calvin Wong added, "The musical expertise and freshness of the two artists will lead to significant advancements in the domestic music market. We will spare no effort in providing them with full support."
Okasian, who debuted in 2011, is an artist with a distinctive musical style and a solid fan base in hip-hop. He was selected as Rookie of the Month by the domestic hip-hop music webzine "Hip-hop Playa" in his debut year. He received critical acclaim in the domestic hip-hop scene with his debut album "Check-in" in 2012 and the compilation album "Orca-Tape" in 2013.
Bryan Chase is an artist expanding his territory with an ever-evolving sound, and since his debut in 2015, he has been loved for his unique musical color. In 2023, he released the EP "2U" through Interscope Records, which is home to Tupac, Dr. Dre, and Kendrick Lamar.
Both Okasian and Bryan Chase were previously members of the Kohort Crew, which dominated the hip-hop scene. Their 2016 album "The Last Orcas" achieved the best overseas career in the history of Korean hip-hop crews.
Additionally, Okasian and Bryan Chase lent their voices to the featured track "LOV3 (Feat. Bryan Chase, Okasian)" from Sik-k and Lil Moshpit's EP "K-FLIP+" released in March 2025. The song has received accolades from listeners as the "hip-hop track of the year for 2025" upon its release.
Okasian stated, "I am truly happy to be able to start anew with Universal Music. I will do my best to repay everyone with better music and authentic works." Bryan Chase remarked, "I have come this far with love and faith in music. I want to share my music with more people, and I believe that I will be able to engage in even more wonderful activities through this new beginning with Universal Music."
Meanwhile, artists DEAN and HEYOON are currently signed under Universal Music. With the addition of Okasian and Bryan Chase, Universal Music is completing a diverse lineup of brilliant artists across various genres. Additionally, Universal Music has opened the "Artist & Label" (A&L) social media channel to share various news about its artists.
