Ma Dong-seok mentioned the sequel to 'The Outlaws.'
On the 24th, an interview took place at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, with Ma Dong-seok, the lead actor of the film 'Holy Night: Demon Hunters' (screenplay and directed by Lim Dae-hee, distributed by Lotte Entertainment, produced by Big Punch Pictures and Nova Film).
'Holy Night' achieved triple 10 million admissions with 'The Outlaws 2' (12.69 million) in May 2022, 'The Outlaws 3' (10.69 million) in May 2023, and 'The Outlaws 4' (11.50 million) in April 2024, establishing itself as a strong box office contender every spring.
Setting a record as the first to achieve 'six 10 million films,' Ma Dong-seok participated in planning, production, and as a lead actor, and is also noted for his first occult action film.
Continuously coming out with new genres and films, Ma Dong-seok said, "I also like various films. I want to try various genres in the future," and mentioned, "It's a different story, but among the films I'm preparing, there is one about a heavy metal band. (As such,) I have a lot of diverse interests."
Additionally, he noted, "The sequel to 'The Outlaws' is scheduled to start filming next year, and I am also writing the script. I am simultaneously writing the screenplays for the remaining four films," adding, "Since filming is next year, the release will likely be after that," referring to the fifth installment of 'The Outlaws.'
He continued, "I will work hard on 'The Outlaws' as well, but the films I am working on with Hollywood and those scheduled in Korea have a lot of action films utilizing the character of Ma Dong-seok. You might feel some familiarity while watching them, but I will try to bring as much variation as possible within that framework," urging anticipation for his future endeavors.
Meanwhile, 'Holy Night: Demon Hunters' is an occult action film about a city thrown into chaos by a cult that worships evil. The team, including the dark fixer 'Holy Night' team Ba-u (played by Ma Dong-seok), Sharon (Seo Hyun), and Kim-gun (Lee Dawit), punishes the forces of evil and is set to be released on the 30th.
