Singer No Sa-yeon, who appeared on "Living Report", chose Malaysia, a country that has both quantity and taste, as a country she wants to experience.
In the 5th episode of the MBN·MBC DramaNet variety show "Living Report" broadcast on the 23rd, No Sa-yeon appeared as a "client wanting to experience living abroad" and requested a tailor-made overseas living guide, saying, "I want to challenge myself with new foods." In response, Lee Ji-hye introduced China, "the birthplace of gourmet food," while Jasson introduced Malaysia, "the sacred place for food lovers," and after much deliberation, No Sa-yeon ultimately chose Malaysia, which left a strong impact with its "taste and quantity," bringing victory to Jasson.
On that day, No Sa-yeon, who appeared as the "client wanting to experience living abroad", noted during a pre-interview with the production team, "In the past, I used to settle for meals like kimbap due to work, but now I want to be compensated with delicious food." She emphasized "food" as the most important criterion for living abroad. Immediately after, No Sa-yeon appeared in the studio and emphasized that "health is essential to eat new foods that I haven't tried before!" saying, "I usually do cycling, hiking, personal training, and swimming regularly." Furthermore, she showcased her strength by winning a spontaneous "thigh wrestling" match with MC Kim Sung-joo, who exclaimed, "My hip joint is broken!" causing laughter to fill the studio.
In a cheerful atmosphere, Lee Ji-hye summoned Lee Byeong-cheol, who has lived in China for 13 years, as the "guide based on experience." Lee Byeong-cheol set out to explore restaurants in Guangzhou, a representative "food city" of China. Firstly, he introduced a famous restaurant known for "fish bone hot pot", which is a specialty of Guangzhou, and showcased a hearty food display at a "Michelin restaurant" famous for its edible pigeons as a dish. At this time, No Sa-yeon pointed out, "(The pigeon meat) is a bit small", and Lee Ji-hye asked, "Can you eat about 20 of them?" Feeling the suddenly cold atmosphere, Lee Ji-hye hastily apologized, saying she would "atone for her sins," which made everyone burst into laughter. Subsequently, Lee Byeong-cheol explored legendary popular Vietnamese restaurants in Guangzhou and a dim sum restaurant measuring "12,000 pyeong", but No Sa-yeon lamented, "That much is just an appetizer..." In response, Lee Ji-hye countered, "I'll order you 120 plates!" making No Sa-yeon show discomfort again by saying, "I've made a lot of verbal mistakes today", which led to great amusement.
While Guangzhou left a bit of disappointment with its 2% less quantity compared to its rich flavors, Jasson introduced Malaysia and launched a counterattack. As the "guide based on experience," the couple Lee Oh-young and Kim Seon-woo appeared. They revealed, "Combined, we have 18 years of living in Malaysia," and shared a romantic story, stating, "We met while hiking in the Nepal Himalayas on Christmas Eve and got married after a long-distance relationship. Currently, we live in Malaysia with our three-member family." Amid everyone's envy, the couple went to a restaurant for "nasi lemak", a Malaysian staple, which comes with a plate of coconut milk rice topped with chicken, fried anchovies, fried peanuts, eggs, and cucumber, served with sambal, all for about 5,000 won. The spicy seafood noodle dish, Assam laksa, was also inexpensive at 4,900 won, and the couple explained, "Assam laksa tastes reminiscent of mackerel kimchi stew, perfect for Korean tastes."
Next, the couple visited a night market in Kuala Lumpur and recommended Malaysia's representative street food, "lok lok" (skewered food). They explained that at a restaurant lined with an amazing 120 varieties buffet-style, customers can either boil their desired "lok lok" in broth or deep fry it, which pleased No Sa-yeon. Following that, at the Chow Kit market, they pointed out that "you can taste all the fruits without needing to buy them", and bought mango for 1,500 won per kg and tangerines for 1,500 won per 500g in bulk. Witnessing this, No Sa-yeon praised, "Jasson introduced such a great place. Hong Hyun-hee picked a great husband!"
Meanwhile, the couple Lee Oh-young and Kim Seon-woo also revealed their home, stating that the area of Mont Kiara where they reside has a variety of restaurants, large marts, shopping malls, convenience facilities, and prestigious international schools. They appealed, "As a multicultural country, Malaysia allows one to experience various languages like English, Chinese, and Malay, along with multiple cultures. The healthcare level is high, and there is well-established Korean infrastructure, making it easy for middle-aged and older individuals to adapt." As No Sa-yeon's heart swayed towards Malaysia, the couple further showcased the national dessert, "roti tissue", boasting a giant size of 110 cm, delivering a decisive blow. No Sa-yeon expressed, "The food is generous. Comparing it to some small dim sum is ridiculous," showcasing her fascination with Malaysia's overwhelming charm in taste and quantity. The star chef's restaurant introduced hefty appetizers such as "chuchu-dang" (fried shrimp) that rivaled the main dish, along with the option of unlimited refills of rice and "assam pedas" (fish curry), targeting No Sa-yeon's preferences. Ultimately, even Lee Ji-hye remarked, "An unlimited refill of rice means I lose," showing her diminished enthusiasm, and as expected, No Sa-yeon chose Malaysia.
