The member of the group Justbe, Baein (real name Song Byeong-hee), has drawn attention after coming out on stage, while fellow members also sent their support.
On the 22nd (local time), during a performance of Justbe's world tour 'JST ODD' held in Los Angeles, Baein stated, "I am proud to belong to the LGBT community" and revealed his sexual identity.
"LGBT" is an abbreviation denoting sexual minorities used within and outside the sexual minority rights movement. Accordingly, Baein became the first idol to come out as a member of a South Korean male idol group. Fans at the scene cheered enthusiastically and applauded Baein's confession.
The agency, Blue Dot Entertainment, stated to OSEN regarding this matter, "Since it is a part of Baein's personal life and sexual identity, it is difficult to provide a separate opinion."
Subsequently, on the 24th (Korean time), Justbe member Siwoo publicly supported Baein's coming out through a fan communication platform.
Siwoo noted, "Bbyeong-hee was amazing today. Applause for his courage," adding, "Watching from backstage, I was moved to tears," and said, "Knowing how difficult and challenging it was for him, I cried even more. I already hugged Bbyeong-hee. It was a very happy tour."
