Actor So Ji-sub's photoshoot has been released.
So Ji-sub is set to return to the drama scene with the upcoming 'Lee & Ko' after three years. 'Lee & Ko' is a Netflix series based on a webtoon of the same name, where So Ji-sub plays the role of 'Nam Gi-jun,' who returns to the organization he left to take revenge for his brother's death.
So Ji-sub talked about his participation in 'Lee & Ko,' noting, "It's a noir action film with a very strong masculine scent." He added, "Gi-jun is a person of steel in the original work. He seems like someone who wouldn't lose to anyone. I hoped that viewers could feel the desperation from such a Gi-jun. That was also something I discussed the most with the director. Of course, Gi-jun is not a good person, but I wanted him to be seen as somewhat pitiful. As the story unfolds, I hoped viewers would notice that Gi-jun is also a person with wounds."
So Ji-sub mentioned that he has different preferences when it comes to selecting works as an actor and as an audience member. He, who named 'Romeo and Juliet' as his life film, expressed curiosity about what works he prefers as an actor. He said, "When acting, I like works with a heavy atmosphere like 'Lee & Ko.' I prefer characters who don't have extreme emotional ups and downs, and I prefer to express emotions through eye contact rather than words. The acting I want to do is different from what others want to see. People who watch me because they like actor So Ji-sub tend to prefer romantic comedies. Even now, I frequently get asked when I will do a romantic comedy. Every job is like that, but there's a gap between the things I want to try and the things I can be recognized for."
So Ji-sub shared his thoughts on what makes a 'good actor,' saying, "A good actor is someone who is healthy in body and mind, someone who does their best at their work and has no regrets. I believe that the fastest way to become a good actor is to become a good person. Regardless of whether one can act well or not, one's attitude towards acting should be healthy. That way, they won't fall behind, can do their best, and won't have regrets."
Meanwhile, the new Netflix original series 'Lee & Ko,' in which So Ji-sub stars, is scheduled to be released in the second quarter of this year.
