Niel of the group Teen Top (real name Ahn Daniel, 31) was revealed to have received military exemption after being classified as a 4th-class reserve and waiting for social service agents call-up.
In an interview with the media published on the 22nd, Niel said, "In 2021, I received a determination for social service agents due to personal reasons and was waiting for the call-up when, last year, my status was changed to exhibition labor service after a long wait." He added that he could not disclose the reasons for receiving the social service agents determination, saying, "It's difficult to talk about personal reasons."
According to military service law, if one is not called up for three years after being classified as a 4th-class reserve, they will receive a military exemption. Since 2019, more than 10,000 people have received military exemption each year for such reasons. Last year, actor Nain Woo also received a 4th-class reserve classification and was granted military exemption while waiting for a social service agents call-up.
On the 22nd, Niel released his mini album 'SHE.' The album includes the title track 'SHE' along with six songs: 'Sapé,' 'What's Under the Word Love,' 'If You're the Ocean,' and 'What's the Excuse for Love.'
