Seohyun from 'Holy Night' confessed that she uses informal speech instead of formal language with her Girls' Generation sisters.
On the morning of the 23rd, an interview with Seohyun, the lead actor in the movie 'Holy Night: Demon Hunters,' was held at a cafe on Samcheong-ro in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
'Holy Night: Demon Hunters' (written and directed by Im Dae-hee, distributed by Lotte Entertainment, produced by Big Punch Pictures and Nova Film) is an occult action film featuring characters who possess special abilities, including the darkness-solving team 'Holy Night' led by Bau (played by Ma Dong-seok), Sharon (played by Seohyun), and Kim-gun (played by Lee Da-wit), who eliminate the minions of evil in a city thrown into chaos by a group that worships evil.
With the success of films like 'The Outlaws 2' (12.69 million viewers) in May 2022 and 'The Outlaws 3' (10.69 million viewers) in May 2023, and 'The Outlaws 4' (11.50 million viewers) in April 2024, Ma Dong-seok's latest work has achieved triple 10 million viewers, exploding box office potential every spring. Ma Dong-seok, who set a historic record with six films reaching 10 million viewers, has been involved in planning, production, and the leading role, and is also gaining attention as his first occult action film. Along with this, the delightful team chemistry between Ma Dong-seok, Seohyun, and Lee Da-wit, along with thrilling and refreshing exorcism action that has never been seen before, is expected to draw audiences to theaters, leading to a real-time ticket reservation rate of 1st place on the integrated electronic ticketing system ahead of its release.
Seohyun passionately played Sharon, a powerful exorcist who can sense and defeat any demon. The vivid colors of her costumes, hair, makeup, accessories, and nail art, as well as the intricate patterns and designs of her outfits, portray a completely different image not seen before. This is her screen debut as an actress.
This year, expectations are high for her activities, including the film 'Holy Night' and the new KBS2 Wednesday-Thursday drama 'I Took the Male Lead's First Night,' which will premiere in June.
Recently, Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon attended the VIP screening of 'Holy Night,' where they showcased nearly 20 years of long-lasting friendship since their debut in 2007. They continue to support each other's acting careers by sending coffee trucks to each other's filming locations.
Seohyun noted, "The staff say, 'As expected, Girls' Generation is the best. It's great to have such loyalty.' Recently, I started using informal speech with my older sisters. I wanted to create a sense of closeness, so I tried it with them. People around me also ask, 'Why aren't you using informal language?' So I thought, 'Well, I can now.' These days, I feel much better speaking informally. I frequently message and call Hyoyeon, and it feels very comfortable and enjoyable."
She mentioned that she mixes formal and informal speech, stating, "I can speak informally to everyone, but I'm slowly doing it to be considerate of my sisters. I'm trying to do it naturally over time." She added, "I've completely adapted because I meet Hyoyeon often and shoot YouTube videos together. With the other members, I'm gradually minimizing the use of formal language," she smiled.
Meanwhile, 'Holy Night: Demon Hunters' is set to be released on the 30th.
