Broadcaster Hyun-young clarified the controversy over reselling luxury brand promotional gifts.
Hyun-young posted a lengthy message on his SNS on the 22nd, saying, "I would like to inform you of a few things regarding the Dior products introduced at Hyun-young Choice last March."
He explained, "In order to introduce products that customers may prefer, I received a referral fee through a formal purchasing agency for the event products introduced at Hyun-young Choice."
He further stated, "Hyun-young Choice is a site operated to promote our brand to more customers," and added, "We will all work harder to ensure that our customers can enjoy a high level of satisfaction while shopping in the future."
Earlier, Hyun-young sold promotional pouches given to customers purchasing from the Dior department store for 85,000 won through his SNS last month. Some netizens raised suspicions, saying, "Isn't this illegal?" leading to controversy.
