On the 24th (Thursday), MBC's 'Save Me! Homes' (directed by Jeong Da-hee, Kim Moon-seop, Son In-ji, Kim Wan-cheol, Heo Ja-yoon, hereinafter 'Homes') will air its second segment on vacant houses in Seoul.
This broadcast is the second segment on 'vacant houses in Seoul,' where singer KCM, comedian Kim Won-hoon, and Park Na-rae departed for the site visit last week.
Before the official site visit, KCM, who granted in the studio, reminisced, saying that Yang Se-chan was his senior during his military service. He recalled wanting to do chin-ups badly as a private, but Yang Se-chan, who had a gentle expression, kept teasing him and wouldn't let him do it. In response, Yang Se-chan said, "I let you do it once at the end. I really wanted to gift you a delicious chin-up," which drew laughter.
Kim Won-hoon, who appeared as a representative of the team, noted, "I recently moved to Seoul and visited more than 20 places to choose carefully" and stated, "Today, I will reveal all my valuable tips for site visits."
The three people headed to Jongno-gu, Ok In-dong, for the site visit on vacant houses. It is said to be located in the Seochon area, west of Gyeongbokgung Palace, where tradition and modernity coexist. Before the visit, Park Na-rae introduced, "Today, we have invited a precious guest, a real estate agent who has been operating in Ok In-dong for 50 years, known as the 'Tiger of Inwangsan' and a 'first-generation real estate agent.'"
The real estate agent said, "In 1914, Ok Ryu-dong and Inwang-dong were merged and renamed Ok In-dong. 50 years ago, the price per pyeong in Gangnam was 10,000 won, while in the Jongno area, it was 100,000 won per pyeong. Now, it costs about 80 million won per pyeong," surprising everyone.
Upon hearing about the changes in Ok In-dong, they arrived at a three-story vacant house located on a main road, where the owner lived until two years ago. Completed in 1966, the spacious interior reportedly maintains a retro-style decor reminiscent of the '80s and '90s. Moreover, from the rooftop, it offers a view of Bugaksan, Bukhansan, and Inwangsan, and it is said that Namsan can be seen in the distance, raising expectations.
Next, Homes introduces Songjeong-dong in the Seongdong-gu area, located next to the hip district of Seongsu-dong. Kim Suk noted, "It's a very hot neighborhood these days." The three met with architect Choi Seong-wook, a vacant house enthusiast and the manager of the '1 Euro Project.'
Choi Seong-wook explained, "The '1 Euro Project' is an urban regeneration project that reuses abandoned spaces by renting them for just 1 euro (about 1,400 won) every three years," and went on to introduce the spaces repurposed for the '1 Euro Project' in detail, catching attention.
The second segment on vacant houses in Seoul will be released on Thursday, the 24th, at 10 p.m. on MBC's 'Save Me! Homes.'
Meanwhile, on the 7th, a burglary occurred at a detached house located in Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, which Park Na-rae reportedly purchased for 5.5 billion won in 2021. It is said that valuables and luxury bags worth millions of won were stolen. At the initial stage of the incident, as there were no signs of external intrusion, the possibility of an insider job was raised; however, the police determined it to be the act of an outsider through CCTV analysis. The police identified the suspect and arrested them, and it is reported that an arrest warrant has been issued and they are currently in custody.
