The late Kim Sae-ron is being protected by fans of actor Kim Soo-hyun, who is facing allegations of underage dating. Fans have united to protect the actor, declaring a tough response against malicious commenters.
On the 22nd, the Kim Soo-hyun Korea & Global Fan Alliance (fan cafe Yukaris and DC Inside Kim Soo-hyun Gallery) stated, "Fans have gathered in consensus that they can no longer tolerate the continuous malicious slandering, dissemination of false information, defamation, and insult directed at actor Kim Soo-hyun, and the Kim Soo-hyun Korea & Global Fan Alliance has appointed attorney Yang Tae-young (law firm Siwoo) as their legal representative."
The fan alliance continued, "Through this, we will actively pursue legal action against malicious commenters and harmful posts, including third-party reports, and we will also respond legally to malicious articles or distorted reports based on false facts."
The fan alliance stated, "Actor Kim Soo-hyun has been quietly doing his best in his position for many years, and fans believe it is their natural responsibility to protect the actor's honor and rights. This is a voluntary movement to protect actor Kim Soo-hyun's rights and to maintain a healthy fan culture, and we will firmly respond to any malicious attempts, stating there will be no leniency in this process."
The bereaved family of the late Kim Sae-ron claimed that according to the deceased's text messages and letters, Kim Sae-ron was 15 years old and Kim Soo-hyun was 27 years old when they began their relationship in 2015. Kim Soo-hyun's side refuted the claim, stating they dated after the deceased became an adult, but controversy arose again when messages such as "I can sleep holding you, when can I?" exchanged in 2016 and 2018 were revealed.
Additionally, Kim Soo-hyun held a press conference and claimed, "The bereaved family pieced together the KakaoTalk messages. Not everything that is untrue becomes true. Just as I am undergoing a verification process, I will conduct a thorough verification of everything the bereaved family presents as evidence through investigative agencies."
Kim Soo-hyun also filed defamation charges against the bereaved family and an unidentified individual claiming to be an aunt, as well as the operator of the "Garosero Research Institute," and he also reported a damages lawsuit amounting to 12 billion won against them.
