Kai shared his feelings before releasing the pre-release song "Adult Swim."
On the 21st, a showcase was held to commemorate the release of Kai's fourth mini-album, "Wait On Me," at the YES24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Suho, the leader of the same group EXO, hosted the showcase.
This album is the first new release in about two years since Kai's third mini-album "Rover" following the theme of redefining the "Kai style" and showcasing it, and it includes a total of 7 tracks, including the title song "Wait On Me," all of which evoke images of Kai's performance.
Prior to the album release, Kai released the pre-release track "Adult Swim." "Adult Swim" is an upbeat pop song with a simple yet energetic drum loop, and the lyrics express deep feelings of love likened to two people swimming together without fear beneath the surface.
On this day, Kai said, "When I first heard the pre-release song 'Adult Swim,' I thought, 'Is this the right thing for me to do?' It felt refreshing, cool, and I wondered if this kind of cute vibe suited someone like me."
In response, Suho noted, "No, Kai, you're really cute," and Kai responded, "I think I was able to present this in my own way, and that's why it came out as a pre-release track."
He continued, "The feeling of the verses and the chorus is really different. I thought it would be great to express such struggles through the song, and it has a contrasting charm to the title track. I wanted to meet the listeners in a lighter way first, which is why I decided to release it as a pre-release track."
Meanwhile, Kai's fourth mini-album "Wait On Me" will be released today (21st) at 6 p.m. through various music sites. Additionally, Kai will embark on the "2025 KAI SOLO CONCERT TOUR" after the album release.
