The film 'Opposition' attracted over 600,000 viewers in its opening weekend, ranking first at the box office.
According to the Integrated Box Office Computer Network on the 21st, 'Opposition' was watched by over 608,000 people (with a revenue share of 69.9%) from the 18th to the 20th, securing the top spot at the box office. 'Opposition' set the highest opening weekend box office record among Korean films released this year. In particular, it was counted as the number one film in its opening week among youth-restricted Korean films released after the COVID-19 pandemic, including 'Hidden Face' and 'Nobleman.'
'Opposition' is a crime film based on a broker who passes on drug crime information to investigative agencies and profits from it. Kang Ha-neul, Yoo Hae-jin, and Park Hae-joon grant appearances, with director Hwang Byeong-guk at the helm. Since its release on the 16th, it has maintained its number one spot at the daily box office without losing momentum.
Directed by Kim Hyung-joo, 'Match,' based on the true story of Go legends Cho Hun-hyun and Lee Chang-ho, attracted over 105,000 viewers from the 18th to the 20th, ranking second at the box office. The cumulative audience reached 1.998 million and is expected to surpass 2 million within this week.
Following that, the Japanese animation 'Attack on Titan: The Final Season - The Last Attack' attracted over 22,000 viewers, while the live-action film 'Minecraft: The Movie,' based on the game of the same name, came in fourth with around 20,000 viewers.
