Koo Bon-im ended her life on April 21, 2019, at 4:50 a.m. She was 50 years old. She was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer in 2018 and it is known that she fought the illness for over a year.
The nasopharynx is the uppermost part of the pharynx that stretches from the base of the brain to the soft palate, and nasopharyngeal cancer refers to a malignant tumor that occurs in this area. Actor Kim Woo-bin also battled this disease and received much support from many.
However, Koo Bon-im could not overcome the illness and eventually bid farewell to the world. Many colleagues and fans expressed their condolences for Koo Bon-im, who left this world too soon.
Six years have passed since Koo Bon-im left the world, but the performances she left behind still shine. The late actress graduated from the Department of Theatre at Seoul Arts University and joined the theatre troupe "Michu" in 1992, actively working on various theater stages and films.
She made a lasting impression with her performances in films including "How to Murder Your Wife," "Hong Ban-jang," "The Servant," "200 Pounds Beauty," "The Admiral: Roaring Currents," "The Taste of Money," "I Am the King," and "Wolf Boy."
