SBS 'Jungle Food 2 - Caribbean Food' (hereafter 'Caribbean Food') has established itself as the top Thursday entertainment program, drawing viewers' attention with a revamped cast featuring Lee Jun and Yoon Nam-no, and a variety of ingredients from the Caribbean Sea.
'Caribbean Food' is a program that showcases a 'taste-earning' journey that crosses the boundaries of labor and gourmet, as participants dig, catch, and cook directly in the stunning Caribbean Sea. This season, skilled chef Yoon Nam-no has newly joined, creating a unique synergy with Ryu Soo-young and capturing viewers' attention.
The 7th episode of 'Caribbean Food' aired on the 17th, recording a household viewer rating of 3.5% and a target metric—the '2049 viewer rating'—of 1.2% (according to Nielsen Korea's metropolitan household standards), taking the top spot among entertainment programs broadcast in the same time slot across terrestrial, general programming, and cable channels. The peak viewership reached as high as 4.7%, setting a new record and proving the show's strength.
The response on OTT platforms was also enthusiastic. 'Caribbean Food' ranked 7th in Netflix's 'Top 10 Series in Korea Today' immediately after the broadcast, proving its online popularity. The program has continued to be discussed through live broadcasts, replays, and clip videos, with viewers expressing a variety of reactions such as, 'Lee Jun and Yoon Nam-no show great chemistry,' 'I can't wait to see what ingredients they caught in such clear and transparent water,' and 'Kim Ok-bin looks healthy and wonderful.'
Meanwhile, the 8th episode scheduled to air on the 24th will feature Ryu Soo-young, Kim Ok-bin, Lee Jun, and Yoon Nam-no embarking on a serious ingredient hunt. In particular, Yoon Nam-no is said to have transformed a gigantic ingredient encountered for the first time into an extraordinary dish with just one touch, raising expectations. Additionally, curiosity arises regarding what legends of the Caribbean, visible only locally, the members have encountered.
