Singer Chuu proved her growth as a solo artist.
Chuu held a listening session for her third mini-album "Only Cry in the Rain" on the 21st at Movie Land in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
Chuu's comeback is about 10 months after the release of her second mini-album "Strawberry Rush" in June of last year. During that time, Chuu participated in various music releases such as "Second Love," "IN MY DREAM," "nrv," and "Is it because I'm a fool?" consistently connecting with her music fans.
Chuu first noted her feelings about her comeback after 10 months, saying, "Since this is a comeback after 10 months, many fans are saying that it's an unexpected concept. I'm glad they say it's fresher, and I hope it becomes a present with an unexpected concept and high satisfaction. As it's an album that fans have waited for, I hope it naturally blends into their daily lives and becomes a pleasant gift-like album."
Chuu's mini-album "Only Cry in the Rain" depicts a journey of moving forward while facing the invisible aspects of "memory" and "emotion." It reflects on forgotten emotions and sings about how they have shaped the current version of herself, capturing Chuu's unique lyrical depth and musical growth.
The title track "Only Cry in the Rain" delivers comfort and courage to today's youth, reminding them that "it's okay to be honest about emotions, at least on rainy days". Chuu's unique emotive vocals blend with the dreamy synth-pop sound based on new wave, deeply conveying the core emotions of the album.
In "Howl," Chuu conveyed a profound narrative, while in "Strawberry Rush," she delivered vibrant energy. Through "Only Cry in the Rain," she showcases a dreamlike and lyrical side. It's possible to glimpse Chuu's musical growth as she presents stories about "emotion" through new genres and concepts with each album.
In response, Chuu said, "Rather than calling it a reason, I have a strong desire to see how far I can go. While I've always been able to show fans a familiar vibrant stage, voice tone, or facial expressions, I wanted to showcase a new side as a solo artist. I hope to convey the messages I want to share with fans through this album. I sang about different messages and emotions from that year. Since it's been 10 months since my last comeback, I've infused all the emotions from that time into this album."
