YG's rookie girl group Baby Monster has successfully completed its first Japan tour, setting a new record for the shortest time to attract 150,000 audience members during K-pop girl groups' Japan tours.
Baby Monster held the '2025 BABYMONSTER 1st WORLD TOUR 'HELLO MONSTERS' IN JAPAN' at the Fukuoka International Center on the 19th and 20th, offering a spectacular finale to the tour alongside fans who packed the venue.
As it was the final performance of the Japan tour, the opening was filled with cheers and sing-alongs. Baby Monster showcased a parade of hit songs including 'DRIP' and 'SHEESH,' solo stages, and covers of 2NE1, fully demonstrating their blossomed live performance skills. The members noted, "Thanks to the Monsties (fan club name), we had a gift-like time. We will work harder to become proud artists."
Originally planned for an audience of 100,000, this first Japan tour expanded repeatedly due to high demand from fans. In response to requests from fans who couldn't secure tickets, obstructed-view seating and standing tickets were opened. In Kanagawa, an emergency additional performance was added at the K Arena Yokohama, and for the first time in the tour, an online live stream was also provided.
Industry insiders praised that holding an arena-scale tour before a formal local debut is a very rare case, reflecting a sharp rise in popularity. In fact, Baby Monster attracted over 150,000 people, more than triple the number from last year's fan meeting tour, setting a new record for 'the most audience members in the shortest time for a K-pop girl group.'
It is exceptional for a rookie to launch a tour commemorative relay pop-up store across the country, reaffirming high interest. Additionally, notable achievements have been made in steadily increasing album sales, long-term dominance on music charts, reappearances on terrestrial music programs, collaborations with Google Pixel, and significant projects in the local industry such as 'Sony Park Exhibition 2025' Part 2.
Local media also paid close attention. They rushed to report on the remarkable records set during this tour and the popularity of these performances, demonstrating their strong influence in the Japanese music market, featuring their performances on Japan's terrestrial morning information programs.
Successfully completing the Japan tour as part of the '2025 BABYMONSTER 1st WORLD TOUR 'HELLO MONSTERS',' Baby Monster will move on to Asia, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh, Bangkok, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, and Taipei. The newly added North American performances will begin in August in Toronto, followed by Rosemont, Atlanta, Fort Worth, Oakland, and Seattle.
