Actor Park Hae-joon has raised expectations for the success of the film 'The Opposition' following the drama 'When Life Gives You Tangerines.'
On the 18th, the 'B Face-to-Face Interview' from fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar, released on YouTube, featured interviews after a photoshoot with the main stars of the film 'The Opposition' (directed by Hwang Byeong-guk, provided/distributed by Plus M Entertainment, produced by HYBE Media Corp) Kang Ha-neul, Yoo Hae-jin, and Park Hae-joon, capturing attention.
The film 'The Opposition,' in which they appear, is a crime action film unfolding with different goals as the broker Lee Kang-soo (Kang Ha-neul), who designs the narcotics scheme in South Korea, the prosecutor Koo Kwan-hee (Yoo Hae-jin), who wants to rise to a higher position, and the detective Oh Sang-jae (Park Hae-joon), who bets everything on uprooting drug crimes, interact. It was released on the 16th and is currently meeting audiences.
Among them, Yoo Hae-jin noted about the most touching moment he recently experienced, "'When Life Gives You Tangerines'" referring to Park Hae-joon's role as the middle-aged Yang Kwan-sik in the Netflix series 'When Life Gives You Tangerines.' Kang Ha-neul also empathized, saying, "I was going to say that first."
Park Hae-joon said, "I saw it along with those who watched ('When Life Gives You Tangerines') in a stage greeting, and they were crying, which was overwhelming. I felt shy watching my own work and crying too," eliciting laughter.
Meanwhile, Park Hae-joon mentioned his interests outside of acting, saying, "I learned guitar while doing the Netflix 'The Eight Show.' I did one song while playing chords, and I thought that would be good enough."
Coincidentally, Yang Kwan-sik from 'When Life Gives You Tangerines' expressed a desire to play guitar and sing, showing a fondness for singer Kim Kwang-seok. Park Hae-joon's wish resonating with the character's aspiration drew parallels to the 'real-life Yang Kwan-sik.'
Additionally, Park Hae-joon showed affection toward director Hwang Byeong-guk of 'The Opposition,' who is presenting a new work after 14 years since 'Special Investigation.' He mentioned, "The director really made this movie after a long time, and I bought him a pair of shoes." He also said, "Every time I struggle, I recite 'I am grateful for being able to work like this,'" leaving a resonance. Even Kang Ha-neul, known as the 'good deed manufacturer,' exclaimed, "Why do you come out like 'When Life Gives You Tangerines'?"
Will 'The Opposition' also be a success? When asked about 'breaking the 10 million viewer mark versus entering 'The Opposition' 2,' the actors expressed their hopes. Yoo Hae-jin said, "Even if it's not 10 million, I hope many people love it," while Kang Ha-neul added, "I feel the same. I hope many people enjoy it."
