The main actors of 'Haunted Palace', Yook Sung-jae and Kim Ji-yeon, showcased their close chemistry.
On the 17th, a production presentation for the new Friday-Saturday drama 'Haunted Palace' (written by Yoon Soo-jung/directed by Yoon Sung-sik) was held at SBS in Mokdong, Seoul. Director Yoon Sung-sik and actors Yook Sung-jae, Kim Ji-yeon, and Kim Ji-hoon attended.
'Haunted Palace' is a body-swapping fantasy romantic comedy where the shaman Yeori, who rejects her fate as a medium, and Gang-cheol, a creature trapped in the body of her first love Yoon-gap, encounter an eight-legged spirit harboring resentment towards the royal family, resulting in a complicated entanglement of body and soul.
Before the press conference, a photo session took place. On this day, Yook Sung-jae created a sophisticated atmosphere in an olive green long coat and pants. Kim Ji-yeon emphasized elegance in a one-shoulder dress that harmonized black and pink tones.
After the solo photoshoot, couple shots of Yook Sung-jae and Kim Ji-yeon were taken. Yook Sung-jae and Kim Ji-yeon have been friends for 16 years since their trainee days. Perhaps finding the serious poses awkward, Yook Sung-jae playfully pointed at Kim Ji-yeon's face, prompting her to respond by throwing up a peace sign and gently pointing back at his face, turning the scene into a sea of laughter due to their 'close friend' chemistry.
When asked by reporters about their feelings of working together, Yook Sung-jae noted, 'At first, both of us were worried about whether we could shoot a romance as friends for 16 years, but it was nice not to have to worry about each other on set. We could directly point out and complement each other's shortcomings, and the conversations flowed freely, creating synergy.'
Kim Ji-yeon replied, 'We had never seen each other working and didn't often reach out. Since it was my first time shooting a fantasy on set, it was challenging, but Sung-jae is a professional actor, and I felt like I could learn a lot from him.'
