Actor Kim Ji-hoon is set to once again transform dramatically in his acting.
Kim Ji-hoon will showcase the character King Lee Jeong in the SBS new Friday-Saturday drama "Haunted Palace," which will premiere today, the 18th (directed by Yoon Sung-sik and Kim Ji-yeon, written by Yoon Soo-jung, produced by Studio S and iWall Media).
"Haunted Palace" is a fantasy romantic comedy where the Imugi Gang-cheol, trapped in the body of the shaman Yeo-ri, who refuses the fate of a medium, confronts the Eight-Footed Ghost, harboring resentment against the royal family, causing a chaotic entanglement of body and soul.
Kim Ji-hoon plays the role of King Lee Jeong, who dreams of a peaceful reign. Lee Jeong is a model king for his people, strictly adhering to the national laws, but collaborates with Yeo-ri (played by Kim Min-ji) and Gang-cheol (played by Yook Sung-jae) to solve mysterious incidents within the palace. Having worn the traditional royal attire for the first time since his debut, Kim Ji-hoon is expected to portray a multi-dimensional character that includes not only the charismatic ruler but also the warm and poignant side of a father. Additionally, he is set to showcase his chemistry with Yook Sung-jae through a dynamic bromance in comedic and action scenes.
Previously, Kim Ji-hoon made his debut in the 2002 drama "Loving You" and established his presence through numerous works such as "Rich Man's Son," "Thief, Thief," "The Man Living in Our House," and "Come! Jjangbo-ri." After earning the moniker "Long-Haired Villain" in the drama "Flower of Evil" and the film "Ballerina," he solidified his position by creating another iconic character in "Ije Ggot Jukseumnida."
As Kim Ji-hoon returns to historical dramas after 15 years, attention is focused on his acting transformation. Meanwhile, viewers are reacting fervently to the news of Kim Ji-hoon's appearance in "Haunted Palace", expressing excitement with comments such as "Kim Ji-hoon as a king is thrilling," "Can't wait to see him in the royal attire," and "There's no reason not to watch Kim Ji-hoon in comedy, action, and fantasy roles." Already recognized as an "Acting King," his new charm is anticipated to enhance the drama's enjoyment.
The much-anticipated transformation in Kim Ji-hoon's acting in "Haunted Palace" will premiere today, the 18th, at 9:50 p.m.
