"Haunted Palace" previews the first broadcast of a life-and-death situation for Yoo Seong-jae and Kim Ji-yeon.
The SBS new Friday-Saturday drama "Haunted Palace" (written by Yoon Soo-jung and directed by Yoon Sung-sik) airs at 9:50 p.m. on the 18th and features a fantasy romantic comedy where a shaman refuses the fate of a medium, while being trapped in the body of her first love, Yoon Gap, encountering a Palcheokwi (a type of monster) with a grudge against the royal family, resulting in a complex tangle of body and spirit. Director Yoon Sung-sik, known for his well-received dramas such as "Mr. Queen," "Lee Soon Shin is the Best," "Bridal Mask," and "Dae Joyeong," teams up with writer Yoon Soo-jung, who penned "The King's Face" and "Cheer Up!" The "Haunted Palace" team raises interest by releasing behind-the-scenes stills of Yoon Gap and Yeo Ri, who are in a life-or-death crisis before the first broadcast. Yoon Gap is Yeo Ri's first love and a loyal court official favored by the king, who will later be possessed by the monster Kang Cheol. On the other hand, Yeo Ri is a talented granddaughter of a famous shaman but refuses the fate of a shaman and lives as a master craftsman of a traditional Korean glasses-making art called anchae.

Their confused expressions evoke curiosity, while Yoon Gap's bloodied appearance adds an element of surprise. Yoon Gap's face, filled with unbearable anger facing the blade aimed at him, instantly raises the heart rate of viewers. This intense crisis raises curiosity about what exactly is happening to the two.
In another still, the tension escalates as the atmosphere surrounding Yoon Gap and Yeo Ri is captured completely transformed. The gentle image of a flower boy has vanished, replaced by Yoon Gap's cold gaze directed at someone, creating an eerie sensation. In a two-shot, Yoon Gap is seen gripping Yeo Ri's shoulder tightly while sending a piercing stare, and Yeo Ri looks at him with a perplexed expression, heightening the tension.
