The first episode of the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Haunted Palace" (written by Yoon Soo-jung/directed by Yoon Sung-sik), which aired on the 18th, depicted the character Yeori (played by Kim Ji-yeon) who can see ghosts.
On this day, Yeori discovered a vengeful spirit in the home of Choi Won-woo (played by Ahn Nai-sang). Yeori thought, "Though weak, it is a vengeful spirit. The inexplicable illness of this home's lady must be due to that ghost. The poor lady will soon take her last breath. If only people could realize ahead of time that life does not end with death, but stubbornly continues through the next generation, perhaps the world would be a little different."
Before Choi In-seon (played by Shin Seul-ki) died, Yeori, who stood in her way, tried to soothe the vengeful spirit and send it to heaven. However, the suddenly strengthened vengeful spirit possessed Choi In-seon's body and fought back.
Someone was watching Yeori as she struggled against the vengeful spirit. It was Gang Cheol-i (played by Kim Young-kwang). After a thousand years of training, Gang Cheol-i fell to the ground, having been noticed by a child while ascending to heaven, thus becoming a mythical creature. He looked at Yeori with interest and said, "What is happening? It looks pitiful. Can I help you? Just say it, and I can help you as much as you need."
However, Yeori replied, "Go away," and Gang Cheol-i noted, "Though I might find it horrendous if I were human, I won't look down on you. But Yeori, you really are amazing. To stand up against that vengeful spirit without a proper weapon, my eyes are sharp. So, become my master."
Yeori retorted, "Do you think I wouldn't know your dark nature?" to which Gang Cheol-i responded, "If you know it so well, then come over already. Ten years can change mountains and rivers, but it has been 13 years already."
