DJ DOC's Lee Ha-neul has been referred to prosecutors on charges of spreading false information and defamation.
According to a media report, Lee Ha-neul was recently referred to prosecutors for defamation under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.
The complainant, representative of BASS Studio, announced Lee Ha-neul's referral to prosecutors through his SNS on the 16th.
He stated, "Singer Lee Ha-neul spread falsehoods that I, a non-smoker, was a 'habitual drug offender' to indiscriminately disseminate this to industry officials and on SNS in order to shift his criminal charges onto others," and added, "Ultimately, all of Lee Ha-neul's criminal charges have been recognized and he has been referred to prosecutors."
He continued, "The fraud and embezzlement charges that Lee Ha-neul claimed against me have also been clearly concluded as not guilty by the prosecutors. However, this time he spread another psychotic falsehood claiming I was a minor sexual offender," and stated, "Today, I also received a notification of investigation results recognizing this as a criminal charge. It has been confirmed that there are currently 4 to 5 incidents where Lee Ha-neul's criminal charges were recognized, and a joint investigation is ongoing."
In response, it is reported that Lee Ha-neul's side is preparing a counterattack.
Previously, Lee Ha-neul and Jubeat Train have been engaged in a truth battle over wrongful termination and drug allegations since June of last year. At that time, Lee Mo, representative of BASS Studio, said that they filed a complaint against Lee Ha-neul for defamation due to spreading false information, claiming that Lee Ha-neul had made habitual drug charges against Jubeat Train, leading to his wrongful termination from Funkytown.
In response, Lee Ha-neul's agency Funkytown rebutted, "Jubeat Train and Lee Mo were terminated from Funkytown for various reasons, including unsatisfactory work performance," adding, "We have filed a criminal complaint against the two workers for fraud, embezzlement, obstructing business by destroying electronic records, and obstructing business by deception at the Mapo Police Station, and investigations are currently underway. Additionally, further problems have been discovered, and we are conducting legal reviews and will take legal action as soon as they are confirmed."
