Actor Jung Seok-won has released a vlog with his daughter, Ha-im.
On the 17th, a video titled "Caring for the Young Husband Waiting for Baek Ji-young Who Left Home (Father's Discipline Method)" was uploaded on Baek Ji-young's YouTube channel.
The video captured the daily life of Jung Seok-won spending time with his daughter while Baek Ji-young was away from home for a week. Jung Seok-won asked Ha-im, "Who do you think you resemble? Do you think you look like your mom?"
Jung Seok-won continued, "Do you think you resemble your dad? In what way?" Ha-im explained, "My eyebrows, nose. My mouth is like mom's. My mouth is a little like mom's. My ears are like dad's." Jung Seok-won then asked, "So do you prefer to resemble mom or dad?" Ha-im answered honestly, "Dad. If mom is a man and dad is also a man, I think dad would be more handsome," which made Jung Seok-won smile.
Meanwhile, Ha-im expressed her desire to appear on YouTube. Jung Seok-won said, "Why do you want to be on screen so much? Then tell your mom that I also want to show my face on YouTube," to which Ha-im revealed, "But mom always says she can't show her face at all."
Jung Seok-won conveyed his honest feelings to Ha-im, who wanted to appear on YouTube, saying, "But your mom and I talked and we oppose Ha-im being exposed on YouTube or broadcast. Because it's for you."
Later, Jung Seok-won took Ha-im to a gym he operates with a friend. He asked his friend, "Can Ha-im do weight training now?" and his friend replied, "Isn't Ha-im 9 years old now? Are you worried that if she does weight training her growth plates might be injured and she won't grow?"
Jung Seok-won said, "That's right. Most seniors tell me that if you lift heavy weights from a young age, you won't grow. I'm really curious about it," and his friend replied, "I think it's okay. There are many studies showing that when strength training, which is weight training, is done, growth hormones are promoted. Children tend to respond more than we do. We've already stretched out."
Jung Seok-won explained, "The reason I'm talking about this is that many parents of Ha-im's friends ask me this. I wanted to ask whether weight training is suitable in an environment where children can't play." His friend shared, "Exercising alone is dangerous, and it's important to receive precise guidance from a professional."
When asked if she wanted to exercise, Ha-im nodded and said, "Yes," and Jung Seok-won suggested, "Should we measure your body fat, Ha-im?" The body composition test showed Ha-im at 142 cm tall, which is above average for her age of 7 years. Normally, the average height for second graders is in the mid-120 cm range. Her weight was 36.2 kg, which is normal, but she was diagnosed with mild obesity due to high body fat.
Seeing this, his friend remarked, "You lack leg muscle, maybe you resemble your dad?" and continued, "Ha-im has long legs and has grown taller very quickly. So it's possible that she lacks muscle mass in her legs." Jung Seok-won noted, "Ha-im struggles even after just a little walking," to which his friend explained, "Even for children, a high body fat percentage is rather common."
That night, Ha-im displayed signs of not being able to sleep due to growing pains. Jung Seok-won, while massaging her legs, asked, "Does it still hurt? Why do you have so many growing pains?" to which Ha-im replied, "Because I'm growing taller." Jung Seok-won then asked, "How tall do you want to be?" and Ha-im shared, "About 170 cm."
