Kim Byung-hyun confessed to secretly planning a business without his wife.
In the 4th episode of the MBN·MBC Dramanet entertainment program 'Living Report' aired on the 16th, Kim Byung-hyun, after concluding his 30-year baseball career, appeared as a 'living participant' and jumped into the food service industry.
That day, Kim introduced himself by saying, 'I am Kim Byung-hyun, a former Major League Baseball player who is currently the owner of a burger shop.'
Jasson mentioned, 'What I still remember is that my cumulative salary was $2 million, which is about 23.7 billion won.' Kim Byung-hyun boasted, 'I think my amateur signing bonus record still hasn't been broken.'
Then Jasson asked, 'Where did all this money go?' and Lee Ji-hye remarked, 'If you put this in the bank and just earned interest, you'd make more than from the burger shop.' In response, Kim Byung-hyun explained, 'I think I couldn't trust banks when I was young,' and added, 'I wanted to challenge myself in something other than baseball.'
Listening quietly, Kim Seong-joo expressed, 'I bought a lot because he is a close younger brother. It's really delicious. But the shop keeps disappearing.'
Ahead of revealing the candidate for overseas business sites, Lee Ji-hye asked, 'How much budget do you consider for the overseas business? Is it about 23.7 billion won?' Kim Byung-hyun replied, 'If I want to open a meat restaurant, it would be about 500 million to 1 billion won, and a small chicken restaurant would be around 100 million to 200 million won, I suppose.'
Lee Ji-hye pressed, 'Have you talked about this with your wife?' The reason was that Kim Byung-hyun had been secretly running various businesses without his wife's knowledge. An embarrassed Kim replied, 'Can't we talk about my wife here?' and said he had come to the shoot that day without his wife's knowledge. Kim Seong-joo then joked, 'I'll be the one getting scolded again,' to which Kim Byung-hyun explained, 'My wife wants me to focus on baseball.'
When footage from Taiwan was revealed, Lee Ji-hye asked, 'If you were to do business in Taiwan, who would you want as a business partner?' Jasson stated, 'I am trendy,' while Lee Ji-hye appealed, 'I am meticulous.' Then Kim Seong-joo boasted, 'I have financial power.'
Kim Byung-hyun said, 'I would do it with my brother Seong-joo,' and Lee Ji-hye also chimed in, 'I would do it with Kim Seong-joo.'
Kim Byung-hyun looked forward to collaborating with Kim Seong-joo. Lee Ji-hye asked Kim Seong-joo, 'If you partner with Kim Byung-hyun, will your wife allow it?' Kim Seong-joo candidly replied, 'No, she won't. We get along too well, but my wife has a great distrust of Kim Byung-hyun's business abilities,' causing laughter.
Meanwhile, Kim Byung-hyun chose Taiwan over Cambodia. He explained, 'There is sufficient baseball infrastructure there, so even if I enter the food service industry, I think it would be good if the Taiwanese say, 'It's a burger shop run by a Major League player.'' Kim Seong-joo firmly responded, 'I won't partner with you' regarding Kim Byung-hyun's proposal.
