Seohyun of Girls' Generation, Idawit, and Jung Jiso showed a clean rhythm.
On the morning of the 17th, on SBS Power FM's 'Park Ha-sun's Cine Town', actors Seohyun, Idawit, and Jung Jiso from the movie 'Holy Night: Demon Hunters' appeared to discuss stories related to the work.
The movie 'Holy Night: Demon Hunters' is an occult action film where the team 'Holy Night', consisting of the dark solver Bau (played by Ma Dong-seok), Sharon (played by Seohyun), and Kim-gun (played by Idawit), eradicates a horde of evil in a city plunged into chaos by a group that worships evil. It will be released on the 30th.
That day, the first person 'Cine Town' welcomed was actor Idawit. After stepping down due to military service, he said, "Sitting here brings me constant laughter. I enjoy it," and continued, "I completed my military service healthily. The thing I thought the most about during and after my service was this place."
Regarding his appearance in 'Squid Game 2', Idawit explained, "I heard stories in the latter part of my military service that the 'Squid Game' audition was in full swing. I thought, 'I won't make it. I can't even get close.' However, I had previously filmed a movie called 'Namhan Fortress' with the director and staff, and fortunately, they called me to join." He added that the news of his acceptance was delivered by his manager, saying, "They called and told me, 'Eat squid stir-fry tonight!' And I said, 'Did I get it?'"
Meanwhile, Seohyun noted that since last year, he has been using informal speech with the members of Girls' Generation. He said, "It's going well," and added, "In the past, using informal speech was really difficult. Even though I didn't need to speak informally with my older sisters to feel close, the continuous formal speech made me feel a bit awkward."
Seohyun shared, "However, while working on the project, I set up a peer relationship with my senior, encouraging me to speak comfortably. 'You have to do it in daily life for it to come out naturally in acting,' they said. I noticed it made things more comfortable. After doing it once, I felt I could let everything go. I really want to do informal speech with my older sisters since I'm closest to them, but others sometimes ask, 'Why do you speak formally with your older sisters?' So, coincidentally, that topic came up, and I've been using informal speech. It's great. We're getting closer."
Jung Jiso has showcased tremendous singing skills by taking on an idol role in recent works. However, she expressed that she finds it hard to pursue being an idol, stating, "I also like singing, but if you look at idol performers, there are often many difficult and hard parts behind the scenes."
Jung Jiso commented, "Seeing that, it's like dieting and being unable to do it. Although I really enjoy singing, I tend to find opportunities for it in dramas or movies," while Idawit, an idol alumnus, chimed in, "In my view, you can definitely do it. Jiso dances really well, and although she appears a bit in the movie, I hope you can look forward to it."
The three met for the first time through the movie 'Holy Night: Demon Hunters.' Seohyun said, "We had so much fun filming the movie. The duration wasn't that long, but we became close very quickly."
When asked to share their captivating traits, Seohyun looked at Jung Jiso and said, "Jiso is very four-dimensional. She's incredibly cute. While filming, Jiso's role was a deep and difficult character. There were many emotions she had to capture, but she was so bright and cute while filming. That kind of energy really came through. She acts exceptionally well. It was so nice."
Jung Jiso remarked about Seohyun, "She's bright and treats us like friends in daily life, but when acting, she's no-nonsense. Just one hit would be enough to get across how serious she is." Idawit recalled, "For me, Jiso matured the most. Although Seohyun nuna has her own personality, I felt there was a significant twist with Jiso. At one point, she had very scary makeup and made strange facial expressions."
Seohyun added, "When we suggested taking pictures, we also made silly faces. Idawit seems to be a surprisingly shy friend. He seems to be like that uncharacteristically."
Moving on to discuss the work, the three succinctly summarized the plot: "'Holy Night: Demon Hunters' is a movie where the team 'Holy Night' hunts down a group that causes chaos in a city that worships evil."
When asked to explain each other's characters, Jung Jiso first described Seohyun's character, saying, "Sharon is a somewhat cold and hard-to-approach character, but deep down, she's very gentle and warm," while Idawit mentioned, "(Jung Jiso's role) is very kind, warm, and Eun-seo has a dream. She originally dreamed of dancing, but one day she was suddenly possessed and began wandering alone at night. Unable to be treated by modern medicine, she meets our 'Holy Team.'"
Seohyun explained Idawit's role as Kim-gun, stating, "He plays the most important role in the Holy Night team. Sharon takes care of exorcisms, Bau possesses immense strength, and Kim-gun does everything else. So, he's an essential character, but sometimes, he doesn't quite comprehend what's happening."
Seohyun was captivated by the unique scenario of 'Holy Night' and decided after reading the script in just one hour. He explained, "It was so interesting that I thought I couldn't let it slip away." On the other hand, Jung Jiso revealed that she decided on her appearance before reading the script, saying, "I think I mentioned it without even reading the scenario at the time. I felt grateful to have been selected after seeing the cast."
The two discussed the charm of their respective characters. Seohyun noted, "It was a character that was hard to find. When preparing, I wondered if it was right to look for something different from other films, so I wanted to make this character special and new."
Jung Jiso added, "I often played victims or pitiful roles in 'The Glory.' This time, I'm portraying a role that scares others, looks cool, and appears impressive for the first time. I had a lot of fun filming it," and said, "I'm very fond of the occult genre. I often seek out profound programs that seem to feature ghosts on OTT platforms."
They shared episodes with Ma Dong-seok, whom they collaborated with. Seohyun mentioned a scene in the movie, saying, "There's a scene where Ma Dong-seok senior breaks down a door, and I wondered, 'How will he break this?' But he said, 'That's something you can do normally.' It was really fun at that moment."
Jung Jiso also recalled an episode with Ma Dong-seok, stating, "There's something I haven't mentioned before, but there are times when senior Dong-seok looks at me closely. When I'm feeling weak and trying not to show it, it seems obvious. He extends his fist as if to say, 'I know, you can do it.' It felt like a silent encouragement."
They were asked if they had ever visited Ma Dong-seok's boxing gym. Seohyun replied, "I visited once when the gym opened." Seohyun added, "He thoughtfully invited great instructors to teach, and I wonder if I could do it well. It's important to be consistent, and I need to commit to it. I'm still trying to muster the heart to do so."
