'Haunted Palace' team has touched the baton as the follow-up drama to 'Buried Hearts,' discussing their pressure regarding viewership ratings.
On the 17th, a production presentation for the new Friday-Saturday drama 'Haunted Palace' was held at SBS Mokdong. The event was hosted by Park Kyung-rim, with director Yoon Seong-sik and actors Yook Sung-jae, Kim Ji-yeon, and Kim Ji-hoon in attendance.
The SBS new Friday-Saturday drama 'Haunted Palace,' which follows 'Buried Hearts' and will air on April 18 (Friday), is a fantasy romantic comedy about a shaman named Yeori who rejects her fate as a shaman and encounters the eight-headed dragon Gang-cheol, trapped in the body of her first love, Yoon-gab, as they face a grudge-bearing creature from the royal family.
Especially as 'Haunted Palace' is set to seek viewers as the follow-up to 'Buried Hearts,' which ended with a record high viewership rating and received a lot of love, director Yoon Seong-sik opened up about the pressure.
On that day, director Yoon said, "In fact, it feels quite burdensome. The SBS Friday-Saturday time slot has received a lot of love, so I'm just grateful to be able to air at that time slot," cautiously opening up.
Director Yoon noted, "The previous work was highly loved, and this must be a piece that lives up to those expectations. For now, all the cast and staff have done their best. I have confidence now, but I can't predict the numbers well."
He added, "It will be a different kind of fun compared to 'Buried Hearts.' The genre and target audience are somewhat different. I believe it is a universally enjoyable content that a slightly older generation can also appreciate. I'm not sure how the ratings will turn out, but I think many people will generally like it, so I expect it to do well."
Actor Kim Ji-hoon also remarked, "Overall, the energy is good. The energy of the Friday-Saturday drama is good. Since we have the energetic Kim Ji-yeon with us, I expect that we can carry this energy and wrap it up aiming for a higher place."
