After broadcaster Park Seul-ki's criticism of the airline, a debate has erupted among netizens.
On the 14th, Park Seul-ki posted on her social media, "The return flight's checked baggage is 0, so I was charged $180 for my baggage, which is my fault for not checking, but isn't it right to sell tickets that are inclusive on the way there but exclusive on the way back? I won't fly again."
The post was made after Park Seul-ki traveled to Nha Trang, Vietnam, with her family. She had previously shared on social media, "From a distance, it looks like a beautiful trip," along with travel memories.
After returning from the trip, Park Seul-ki had to pay additional fees and charges due to her airline ticket that did not include checked baggage.
However, strictly speaking, this issue is not the airline's "scam." This is because the baggage regulations differ from airline to airline, and the inclusion of services varies widely. Therefore, even round-trip tickets from the same airline can have different regulations.
In response, netizens commented that "there are often cases where baggage is excluded," and "she should have checked these details carefully," while ultimately on the same day, Park Seul-ki acknowledged her mistake, saying, "From now on, I will check the round-trip baggage regulations thoroughly. I hope I never make such a mistake again."
However, some netizens criticized Park Seul-ki's hasty expression of discontent, saying, "Perhaps she doesn't know the meaning of 'scam'" and "Ignorance is a crime."
In particular, this controversy seems to be following a backlash that arose after Park Seul-ki confessed to being a victim of workplace bullying, leading to further controversies over her "misleading remarks."
Earlier, in August of last year, Park Seul-ki appeared on Jang Young-ran's YouTube channel, 'A-class Jang Young-ran,' where she revealed she had been bullied by an actor on a movie set. The actor, who mentioned 'XXX oppa,' was referred to by Park as saying, "XXX oppa slapped our manager," which caused shock.
Afterward, netizens began naming actors who appeared in the same movie during the time Park Seul-ki mentioned, pointing to them as 'bullying actors.' In this process, Lee Ji-hoon, who appeared in the movie 'Dreaming of Love 2,' and Ahn Jae-mo, from 'Escape from Charisma,' became unfortunate targets of criticism, prompting Park to close the comments section on her social media due to the flood of negative comments.
However, some voices have been raised warning against excessive criticism of Park Seul-ki, saying, "Why do they rush to criticize whenever she says something?" and "She could be unaware of it," and "What exactly is the problem?"
