Actor Eom Tae-woong attracted attention as he made his first official appearance in about eight years.
Eom Tae-woong showed a warm expression at the showcase and VIP premiere of the film 'YADANG: The Snitch' held at Megabox COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul on the 15th.
'YADANG: The Snitch' is a crime action film that unfolds with a broker 'YADANG: The Snitch' who designs the drug trade in South Korea, a 'prosecutor' aiming for higher positions, and a 'detective' who is committed to eradicating drug crimes, with each having different objectives. Actors Park Hae-joon, Ryu Kyung-soo, Chae Won-bin, Yoo Hae-jin, and Kang Ha-neul grants.
On this day, numerous stars, including Kim Sung-kyun, Gong Min-jung, Ha Seo-yoon, Lee Yoo-bi, Lee Min-ho, and Ha Ji-won, brightened the event and offered their support for 'YADANG: The Snitch,' while Eom Tae-woong received the spotlight by standing at the photo zone.
Eom Tae-woong, who appeared at the official event after a long time, took his place on the photo line with an excited expression, smiling leisurely as he posed. He noted, "I heard the director has been preparing for this for a long time. It seems like it will be very complete and entertaining, so I'm looking forward to it," as he expressed his support for the film.
Meanwhile, Eom Tae-woong has been meeting the public through a recent photo exhibition. Eom Tae-woong's photo exhibition 'Air of Time' runs from the 5th to the 30th at Gallery Curiosity.
Eom Tae-woong's wife, former ballerina Yoon Hye-jin, mentioned regarding the photo exhibition, "The fact that actor Eom Tae-woong has no photos taken by his father or taken together has been a long-standing deficiency for him. So, when his daughter was born, he started taking pictures to capture various moments with his family." Additionally, she added, "In the accumulated photos, I discovered some common emotions, pondered where these feelings originated, and how they flow and are shared between us like air. This exhibition, marking my debut as a photographer, began with that question and invites everyone to the time of air, where I capture moments with the desire for them not to vanish." Eom Tae-woong also personally greeted visitors at the exhibition.
Earlier, Eom Tae-woong was embroiled in controversy after being accused of sexually assaulting a female worker at a massage parlor in 2016. However, it was revealed during the police investigation that the accuser had colluded with the owner to extort money from Eom Tae-woong. As a result, Eom Tae-woong was cleared of the sexual assault allegations. He was, however, fined 1 million won for violating laws related to prostitution.
Subsequently, Eom Tae-woong took a period of reflection after suspending his activities. During this time, the film 'Excavator' premiered in 2017, just a year after his reflection. However, he did not appear in any official domestic events except for the official press conference for 'Excavator' at the 21st Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival held in Tallinn, Estonia. He has signaled a comeback to the small screen after more than seven years by starring in the drama 'I Kill You,' directed by Yu Ha in 2023, but a full return to acting has not yet occurred.
However, Yoon Hye-jin consistently shared her recent greetings through her YouTube channel 'Yoon Hye-jin's What See TV,' and her heartfelt commitment to her family has resonated with the public. Attention is also drawn to the possibility of Eom Tae-woong's return to his primary career as an actor.
