As the 'personality controversy' of The Boyz's Sunwoo has spread like wildfire, the agency emphasized its response to malicious comments.

On the 15th, The Boyz's agency, 100 Entertainment, stated through their official social media, "We will inform you of the legal proceedings regarding the dissemination of false information and malicious posts related to The Boyz member Sunwoo."

The agency's statement is a response to the malicious comments triggered by the earlier 'personality controversy' surrounding The Boyz member Sunwoo. Recently, Sunwoo dropped his earphones when he was about to get into an elevator and shouted, 'My earphones!' After a security guard quickly ran to pick them up and handed them over with both hands, a video of him receiving them with one hand was released, adding to the personality controversy.

In light of the controversy, Sunwoo explained, "Everyone talked and so I looked for the video. But it really looks like I was just receiving them without greeting anyone and was being rude," and noted, "At that moment, a fan shouted something. I was confused and didn’t even know what I had dropped until I realized it was my AirPods. So I looked for them with my eyes and received the AirPods handed to me. I didn’t bow my head but said 'thank you.'"

However, the criticism continued, especially as Nana also joined in on the critiques. Nana left a brief comment saying, "He needs to be scolded" on a post featuring the video of Sunwoo. After her comment became an issue, Nana stated through a fandom platform, "It’s not right to make a judgment based on just a short video," while emphasizing, "I didn’t conclude or judge that person, but the behavior seemed very rude."

In response, Sunwoo expressed his feelings. He stated again through a fandom platform, "I would never do that, with all the fans present, shout at the security guard to pick up my earphones. It’s ridiculous. I was trying to reflect on the points that made me come off that way, but I'm scared that I’m being criticized so harshly for something only seen in a few seconds of video."

However, the public criticism toward Sunwoo did not subside, and ultimately, the agency 100 Entertainment conveyed that "the artist deeply regrets his careless behavior" and issued an apology. Sunwoo also released a personal apology statement, emphasizing, "I sincerely apologize to everyone who felt discomfort and hurt due to my immature responses."

Despite Nana's wishes, the malicious comments directed at Sunwoo continued, and thus Nana wrote, "I hope everyone can refrain from this," adding, "I wish this would stop for Sunwoo’s sake as well."

Despite Nana's wishes, the malicious comments directed at Sunwoo continued, prompting the agency to take action. The agency stated, "We have collected evidence of malicious posts and comments through reports from fans and our own monitoring up to now," and added, "Based on this, on the 15th, we submitted a complaint to the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul requesting an investigation for defamation, insult, and dissemination of false information."

"After this announcement, we will continue to collect and review malicious posts regarding our artists and members, and will proceed with legal actions promptly without leniency or negotiation," the statement emphasized.
