Actor Park Hae-jun, from 'You Quiz on the Block,' expressed gratitude to junior actors IU and Park Bo-gum.
In the tvN broadcast of 'You Quiz on the Block' aired on the 16th, actor Park Hae-jun, who moved the nation with his role as a middle-aged Kwan-sik in 'When Life Gives You Tangerines,' made an appearance.
Park Hae-jun said, 'Seeing my sons, I suddenly tear up. I'm also moved. I'm so grateful to be able to appear on You Quiz. The atmosphere here is nice too,' revealing he was already teary upon his arrival.
The sons of Park Hae-jun mentioned by Yoo Jae-suk raised curiosity with their looks reminiscent of Park Bo-gum. Park Hae-jun smiled and said, 'The kids wanted to come. The writer said it was okay to brag about them,' and mentioned, 'The oldest likes basketball and has been doing origami for a long time,' showing the caring side of a dad as he spoke proudly about his children.
Yoo Jae-suk asked, 'Are you closer to Kwan-sik or to the uncle from 'The Man from Nowhere'?' Park Hae-jun responded, 'According to my wife, she said there are many similarities with Kwan-sik, so I'll say the same.'
Park Hae-jun said it was almost as if he was playing middle-aged Park Bo-gum. Yoo Jae-suk asked, 'How did you feel when you were cast as middle-aged Kwan-sik?' Park Hae-jun replied, 'I felt a little burdened. I worried about disappointing viewers with an older appearance. While watching the drama, I thought, 'Bo-gum saved me.' I know there will be a sense of discomfort for the audience, but I'm grateful for the way Bo-gum's portrayal of Kwan-sik reminded me of my performance,' adding, 'We are thankful to each other.'
Regarding IU, who has a longer relationship with him, Park Hae-jun mentioned that he was invited to her concert. He said, 'This was truly on another level. It felt like the opening ceremony of the Olympics, so amazing, with lots of gifts given, and singing encores until midnight for 3 to 4 hours. It felt like an energy beyond what a person could muster,' and added, 'I felt so good, yet having seen IU for a while as my daughter, I found her looking skinny and exhausted in the dressing room. It made me feel sad, wishing she would take a break.'
Park Hae-jun expressed special gratitude to IU, saying, 'You do a lot for me during the holidays, and I'm not sure what gifts to give. Just tell me what you want, and I'll get you something big from your dad.'
