(Following interview②) Actor Park Hae-jun from the movie 'YADANG: The Snitch' shared his thoughts on collaborating with junior actor Kang Ha-neul.
Park Hae-jun conducted the interview on the morning of the 15th at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. During this meeting, he discussed the film 'YADANG: The Snitch' (directed by Hwang Byeong-guk, provided/distributed by Plus M Entertainment, produced by HYBE Media Corp) with domestic reporters.
'YADANG: The Snitch' is a crime action film in which a broker, Lee Kang-soo, designs the Korean drug market, intertwined with a prosecutor aiming for a higher position and a detective risking everything to eradicate drug crimes, each driven by different motives. In this, Park Hae-jun delivered a passionate performance as detective Oh Sang-jae, who struggles to combat drug crime.
Notably, Kang Ha-neul played the titular role of Lee Kang-soo, the opposition. Park Hae-jun and Kang Ha-neul reconnected through the movie 'YADANG: The Snitch,' having previously starred together in the drama 'Misaeng.' When asked about Kang Ha-neul, he humorously revealed their friendship by saying, "Ha-neul is not so great," eliciting laughter. He expressed, "It's awkward to compliment each other," and waved his hand, insisting, "I don't really mean that it's not great."
Park Hae-jun continued to praise Kang Ha-neul, who is known as a 'good story factory,' saying, "Everyone commonly talks about how he is a truly energetic friend, like senior actor Yoo Hae-jin, and is someone who can accommodate everything on set." He added, "No matter how we act together, he is an open friend. His reaction is really good. Even if I say something truly boring, he laughs and responds. Living like that might not be easy or could be hard."
Park Hae-jun remarked, "Ha-neul has a very low barrier for laughter. He himself says so. Even when you share completely unnecessary stories, he reacts. That makes the set really enjoyable. The energy he brings when focusing is also very good. I think most actors would get along well with Ha-neul. He is such a good actor."
Earlier, Kang Ha-neul revealed that he and Park Hae-jun clicked well in their laid-back manner. Park Hae-jun explained, "Both of us are people who can do it either way. Whether this way or that way is OK, the director managed it well in the middle. In good terms, it seems like we approach everything the director requires with an accommodating attitude. Ha-neul is also that kind of friend."
He added, "So, even if some parts seem 'weird,' sharing those thoughts quickly resolves them, and the transition is fast. The time taken to discuss alternatives is also very quick. He is a very compromising friend. So there might also be downsides."
'YADANG: The Snitch' will be released in theaters nationwide on the 16th.
