The group Stray Kids has attained their fourth gold certification from the French National Syndicate of Phonographic Recording (SNEP) with the SKZHOP HIPTAPE '合 (HOP)'.
According to an official announcement from the French National Syndicate of Phonographic Recording on Dec. 10 (local time), the Stray Kids SKZHOP HIPTAPE '合 (HOP)', released on Dec. 13, 2024, recorded over 50,000 units sold, earning the gold certification. With this, Stray Kids now holds a total of four gold certifications, including their studio album '★★★★★ (5-STAR)', mini-album '樂-STAR' (Rockstar), and 'ATE' (Eight). Established in 1922, the French National Syndicate of Phonographic Recording awards certifications based on album and single sales.
'合 (HOP)' is the first work from the album SKZHOP HIPTAPE, which presents a new genre unique to Stray Kids, featuring the title track 'Walkin On Water', filled with hip-hop energy, as well as solo songs from all eight members, capturing the enthusiastic popularity of K-pop fans. The album topped the U.S. Billboard's main album chart 'Billboard 200' for six consecutive weeks last December and received gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in March this year.
Stray Kids is currently meeting with worldwide fans through their world tour 'Stray Kids World Tour 'dominATE''. From March 27 to 28 in Santiago, on April 1 in Rio de Janeiro, May 5 to 6 in São Paulo, April 9 in Lima, and April 12 to 13 in Mexico City, they proved their strong influence by drawing about 400,000 audiences through eight concerts in five stadiums in Latin America.
The 'dominATE' world tour, which features a total of 55 performances in 34 regions, is set to resume on May 10 to 11 and 17 to 18 at Shizuoka Stadium Ecopa and will take place on a massive global stadium stage in Rome on July 30. This tour is expected to gather a total of 2.2 million attendees and set a new record for the 'largest attendance for a single K-pop tour.'
