Eleven years have passed since the Sewol ferry disaster. On the 11th anniversary of the Sewol ferry incident, stars from the entertainment industry expressed their condolences in their own ways.
On the 15th, Kim Ki-cheon posted on his social media, "How excited and happy those children must have been to go on a picnic back then…. flowers bloom and flowers fade," memorializing the 11th anniversary of the Sewol ferry disaster.
Lee Seung-hwan also shared a photo with a yellow ribbon, stating, "On the 11th anniversary of the Sewol ferry disaster, we who remember can change the world," conveying his condolences.
Raymon Kim posted on the 16th, "Already 11 years. It's not a matter of inclination or which side to stand on; it's simply the day that year when I learned my daughter came to us," along with a photo of the whole family wearing yellow ribbons and bracelets.
Raymon Kim continued, "The day the angel came to us was the day when other people's angels departed. I try to remember that day as one filled with pain and regret. It's exhausting just to remember, and time makes us forget in life. Still, I will strive to remember and not forget. I will not forget," he added.
In that post, actress Lee Ha-nee and Ahn Jung-hwan's wife Lee Hye-won also participated by clicking 'like' as a sign of remembrance.
Meanwhile, on April 16, 2014, a tragic disaster occurred when the Sewol ferry, which was heading to Jeju from Incheon, sank in the waters near Jindo, Jeollanam-do. As a result, 304 passengers died or went missing. Among them were 250 second-year students from Danwon High School on a school trip and 11 teachers.
