On the 16th, it was revealed that A received confirmation of a court ruling from the Supreme Court's 1st Division (Chief Justice Noh Taeak) on the 13th of last month, where he was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison with a 2-year suspended sentence for violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes.
A is a Namsung in his 20s, with approximately 12 million subscribers on his YouTube channel and over 56 million subscribers on his TikTok channel. He was arrested in December of the same year for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman he brought to a friend B's house while drinking together in July 2023.
The prosecution applied the charge of aggravated rape, believing that A and B committed the crime together. Consequently, the first trial court sentenced him to 3 years and 6 months in prison.
However, in the appeal trial, only the charge of attempted rape was recognized as guilty. As a result, he was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison with a 2-year suspended sentence. It is known that the fact that the victim reached an agreement during the second trial influenced the sentencing.
