The group Stray Kids held two solo concerts successfully in Mexico City and concluded their debut Latin America stadium tour.
Since the end of March, Stray Kids has been conducting a stadium tour as part of the world tour "Stray Kids World Tour 'dominATE'" that includes 22 locations across Latin America, Japan, North America, and Europe. Starting from Santiago on the 27th and 28th (local time), they performed solo concerts in Rio de Janeiro on April 1, São Paulo on the 5th and 6th, and Lima on the 9th, culminating in a heated finale in Mexico City on the 12th and 13th.
They grandly held their first solo concert in Mexico City at the massive outdoor venue "Estadio GNP Seguros" and showcased their strong global popularity. Initially scheduled to have a single performance on the 12th, the tickets sold out, leading JYP Entertainment to add a performance on the 13th in response to the enthusiastic support from local fans. A total of 115,000 spectators attended over the two days, marking the conclusion of the Latin America stadium tour.
"Estadio GNP Seguros" has hosted artists such as TWICE, Metallica, Shakira, Coldplay, and Bruno Mars, and a concert by the "legend of Britpop" Oasis is scheduled for September. Stray Kids took the stage at this meaningful venue where renowned global artists have performed, enhancing their presence as a "global top artist."
The concert opened with "MOUNTAINS" and unfolded in a lively atmosphere with representative songs including "Sori-gun," "Back Door," "Chk Chk Boom," "神메뉴," and "Teuk," along with the emotional ballads "Lonely St.," "I am YOU," and "Gareujo," leading to the encore performance of "I Like It," "Sakakjidae," "Stray Kids," and "MIROH." The recently released stage of the unit song from the digital single "Mixtape: dominATE" drew the loudest cheers from fans.
Wrapping up the performance, the eight members said, "It was an honor to perform with STAY (the fandom name) in such a grand stadium. It felt like STAY was embracing us. We are proud to have concluded the Latin America tour, finishing with the passionate Mexico City. We are so grateful to receive such great love from the other side of the world and definitely want to come back. Thank you for making the name Stray Kids something to be proud of. We will not forget this."
Stray Kids has reaffirmed their strong audience mobilization by drawing about 400,000 people through eight stadium performances in five cities in Latin America. The stadium tour will resume from May 10-11 and 17-18 at Shizuoka Stadium Ecopa, where they are expected to set a new record for the highest attendance for a single tour in K-pop, with a total of 2.2 million fans across 55 performances in 34 regions.
