Kim Chang-ok spoke out about rumors concerning a suspected Alzheimer's diagnosis.
On the 15th episode of TVN STORY 'Kim Chang-ok Show 3,' the April bride, singer Ailee, and her husband Choi Si-hoon appeared as guests.
That day, while Ailee shared her concerns about rumors and negative comments directed at her husband, Kim Chang-ok shared a personal anecdote.
Kim Chang-ok confessed, "I'm similar to both of you. When I have many lectures, there are many comments. The comments amount to thousands. I tend to look at them, and yes, there are comments. I will see them once and then see them again. I start to think about them. The negative comments appear to grow larger. I can barely see the supportive ones."
He further noted, "I received an Alzheimer's test last year, and the next day, an article concluded that I had 'Alzheimer's.' Then, there were rumors that I had retired. For six months, when people saw me, they would greet me by saying, 'Live long,'" expressing his bewilderment.
Kim Chang-ok added, "That incident made me reflect on myself. First, do I want to be liked by everyone? Secondly, this line of work doesn't seem to fit me. I dislike being judged by others, and it's challenging. It feels like I'm constantly auditioning."
In particular, Kim Chang-ok asked the two, "But have you ever encountered anyone who actually said negative things in front of you? No, right? Those comments will fade away like morning fog. If they were real, they would come out and speak. Most of the written words are illusions," he advised warmly. "There are many fake speed bumps in Jeju Island. Fake speed bumps need caution, but there's no need to be frightened. In time, the truth will ultimately be proven."
Previously, Kim Chang-ok stirred up attention by revealing his Alzheimer's diagnosis and short-term memory loss last year.
