JYP Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as JYP) boy group NEXZ is set to make its first comeback in 2025 with a visual that evokes the reaction "OH REALLY?".
NEXZ (Tomoya, Yuu, Haru, Soken, Seita, Huey, Yuki) will release their second mini album 'O-RLY?' along with the title track of the same name on April 28. JYP unveiled group and individual teaser images showcasing the new album concept on official social media channels on the 14th, two weeks ahead of the release.
In the photos, NEXZ captured the hearts of viewers with visuals reminiscent of protagonists from youth films. They created variations in their style by matching neat black and white suits with leather jackets, shorts, and bold accessories, while each member highlighted their visual strengths through expressions and poses, revealing their unique charms.
Leader Tomoya created an emotional atmosphere under warm-toned lighting while Haru, Seita, and Yuki radiated warmth sitting by a sunlit window. Yuu, who stood out with a striking hairstyle change, and the handsome visual of Huey brightly illuminated a dark background. In the group shot, a mix of intense gazes and youthful appearances captured viewers' attention with the richness of NEXZ's diversity.
NEXZ's upcoming new release 'O-RLY?', which is making a comeback after about five months, conveys a 'feel-good' energy in every teaser content, garnering positive reviews from K-pop fans. Notably, ahead of the official album release, the surprise pre-release of the music video for the track 'Simmer' showcases the essence of NEXZ's charm with rap, performance, and visuals, receiving favorable reactions. Four days after its release on the 14th, it surpassed 4 million views on YouTube, with praise such as "a concept that perfectly fits NEXZ" and "the more you listen, the more new points appear, making it continuously replayable."
The upcoming release includes the title track 'O-RLY?' along with 'Simmer', 'Want More? One More!', 'Run With Me', 'Slo-mo', and 'Z Side_250226 (CD Only)', which can only be heard in the physical album. Several renowned domestic and international songwriters who have worked with numerous K-pop artists, along with JYP senior artist Stray Kids' Han, contributed as the sole lyricist for the fourth track 'Run With Me', raising anticipation.
Meanwhile, NEXZ will release mini album 'O-RLY?' at 6 p.m. on the 28th (Monday) and take a vigorous first step toward a significant leap in 2025.
